Summary

Catherine Patterson left her home long ago. However, when she returns to attend her father’s funeral, she has no idea what is waiting for her. She never wanted to come back, but once she arrived, she just couldn’t leave. Mysteries of the past and a handsome boy are the least of her worries, as she discovers a secret obsession of her father. But soon she becomes a prisoner of her own device and at the center of a psychopath’s own obsession. Catherine stood on trembling knees, defying her father for only the second time in all her 16 years. "You can't stop me daddy!" Flushed cheeks and heart pounding wildly, she stood tall before her six- foot-three-inch father. "You go out there Cate, you're going to regret it." His Southern drawl was low and thick with anger. Grabbing her single bag, Catherine turned for the door. "You walk out that door, there's no coming back." His hazel eyes glowed. She couldn't tell if it was from fear or hatred for his only child. She didn't want to know either way. "I hate you." The words crossed her lips, barely above a whisper. Catherine walked out the door. Tears rolled down her cheeks as she walked away from the only home she had ever known. Away from her childhood. Away from her father....
