Summary

Rebecca Carson was used to the high society of Philadelphia. Not the rough land of the West. Nor the men it created. When she arrives at her brother's ranch, she discovers him missing and the ranch falling apart. Her only chance is to convince Dusty Rhodes to become her foreman. She needs him if she is going to fight the rustlers, the desert, and a greedy banker. Dusty Rhodes never understood high-toned women. But Rebecca Carson, the sister of his boss, is particularly difficult. Everything about her is disturbing. And now she needs him to help save her ranch. He had never been anything more than a saddle tramp, a wandering man with an itchy foot and an urge to see what was over the next mountain. But now he must assume responsibility for others. He must do what needs to be done regardless of the consequences.
