Murder on Mary Wing Yard

Summary

Nietzsche’s saying, “He who fights monsters becomes one”, rings true in this murder novella. As a 25 year Department of Corrections veteran, Correctional Officer Pontivich devises a scheme to kill inmates on his small prison yard. His goal is to break Ed Kemper’s (the “co-ed killer") record.  Ed Kemper is an inmate confined at California Medical Facility. Dr. Yi, the wing psychologist, is an expert in non-verbal communication. She specializes in the limbic brain, particularly the brain’s “freeze, fight, and flight” responses. By observing her prison surroundings, Dr. Yi moves through non-verbal communication clues in search of the mass murderer. The killer keeps his secret so well that he actually signs a body receipt to the County Coroner on an inmate he killed.
