The Power of Darkness

Summary

When you hear the name Edith Nesbit, I'll bet "author of horror stories" is not the first thing that comes to mind. She is primarily remembered as a children's author of books like Five Children and It, The Books of Dragons, and many others, but her ghost stories also had great power with eerie, scary, and unlikely endings. J.K. Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter books, is one of Nesbit's many admirers.  The Power of Darkness is a very spooky tale, and not for the faint of heart. A man who is afraid of the dark is tricked into a bet that forces him to spend the night in a Parisian wax museum. This story does not end as you might expect, scaring the fainthearted senseless, as it proceeds.
