I Dream of Twila

Summary

Twila Winchester isn't used to being in charge, but that's exactly where she finds herself when her sisters leave town for a business convention. Twila thinks everything is going to be fun and games even though she has one daughter, two nieces, and one mischievous aunt to contend with. She's focused on cooking and having a good time...until a roving troupe of renaissance performers make camp on the Winchester property and trouble starts brewing. When the head of the group starts making predictions - and, unfortunately, gets left behind - Twila has her hands full. It seems Aunt Tillie doesn't trust the new guest and she's determined to turn the three younger Winchesters into investigative dynamos. Twila is working on a limited timetable. She must solve a mystery involving some missing items, open her home to a stranger, and crack down on Aunt Tillie's "lying" classes as her aunt attempts to teach Bay, Clove, and Thistle how to manipulate everyone in their paths. Oh, and she has to do it all before Marnie and Winnie return to town. No pressure, though. Note: This is a 28,000-word short set in the Wicked Witches of the Midwest world. It is set back in time so it can be listened to at any point in the timeline.

Summary

Mystic Caravan Circus is in flux. Things are shifting in the organization, new faces are joining the fray, and manager Poet Parker isn’t certain how to deal with it. Unfortunately for her, she doesn’t have time to figure it out. Kentucky is on the horizon, and a roadside accident that claims a family has caught Poet’s attention. She’s haunted by what she sees...and dreams that show her nothing but snapping teeth and flowing blood. They’ve been to the area before - Mammoth Caves is a big draw - but something appears to be amiss. It isn’t long until Poet realizes exactly what that something is...vampires. They’re nesting and taking over the entire town. Vampires are nothing new when fighting monsters with a paranormal circus. These vampires, however, are different. They’re stronger...and faster...and deadlier. In fact, they’re something older and more ruthless, and Poet has no idea how to take on this new enemy. When the vampires come for one of Mystic Caravan’s own, the time for debate is over. They live as a family. They’ll die as one, too, if need be. Poet has fought wars before but this one is going to get bloody. It’s going to take everyone working together to overcome this enemy. Even then nothing is guaranteed.

Summary

Christmas is here, but the Winchester witches aren't exactly teeming with good cheer. Well, they are, but it's not the sort of Christmas cheer Aunt Tillie wants waiting for her under this year's tree. When Aunt Tillie finds out her great-nieces want to separate for Christmas Day - forgoing the family's annual tradition - she decides to teach them a little lesson. Of course, since she's Aunt Tillie, her dose of retribution comes in the form of her favorite holiday Christmas stories. For Bay and Landon, that means they’re shoved into "A Witchmas Carol", one of Aunt Tillie’s favorite tales. That should mean hugs and happiness, right? Yeah, try toil and trouble instead. Bay and Landon have to work their way through memories of the past, guilt over the present and absolute terror when facing their future if they expect to come out the other side. To escape, they have to figure out exactly what Aunt Tillie wants... and she's got a few tricks up her sleeve. So, it's that time of the year. Things are about to get merry... and maybe a little messy... for the Winchesters. There's no better time to hitch a ride on the mayhem sleigh. A Witchmas Carol is a fantasy set in the Wicked Witches of the Midwest world. It falls between A Witch Before Dying and All My Witches in the timeline.

Summary

Mystic Caravan Circus is heading for the Midwest...and their first stop is Michigan. Hemlock Cove, to be exact. Poet Parker is looking forward to what she believes will be a quiet time. Hemlock Cove isn’t big, after all, and Mystic Caravan is essentially serving as the centerpiece for a paranormal festival in a town where everyone pretends to be witches. There’s just one problem...real witches are afoot, and they’re unbelievably powerful. When a body drops close to the circus grounds, Poet finds herself facing off with local law enforcement, the town’s only reporter, and an elderly witch who is set in her ways...and knows exactly how she’s going to do things no matter who agrees with her or not. Yes, Poet is about to interact with the Winchester witches, and who comes out on top is anybody’s guess. The only thing both factions know is that they have to work together to uncover a killer and keep their true natures under wraps. That’s easier said than done, especially when Nellie and Aunt Tillie join forces and decided to take control of the situation. It’s a battle for supremacy, with Mystic Caravan in one corner and the Wicked Witches of the Midwest in the other. Both sides are going to come out swinging...and cursing. Place your bets.

Life's a Witch

Summary

Life's a witch...and then you die. Bay Winchester is living the witch part - literally. She's hoping to avoid the dying part. The Winchester world is full of trouble when great-aunt Willa and cousin Rosemary come to town. It's clear they're up to something, but no one can figure out what. Aunt Tillie is loading for bear. She's declared war on her sister, and she's not taking prisoners - or looking to skirt collateral damage. When a young man's body shows up at Hollow Creek, Bay's attention is divided thanks to a morose ghost who blames her for ending "party time" and Aunt Tillie's refusal to back down. FBI Agent Landon Michaels enjoys watching the show, although he's worried the dead man's ties to the local drug trade could put the Winchesters in danger due to Aunt Tillie's "glaucoma medicine" side business. Local kids are trying to steal from the property, Aunt Willa is trying to undermine everyone, and Aunt Tillie has a secret that she's dying to spill - that is, when she's not protecting her land with a shotgun. Bay is determined to find answers, even if she dies in the process.

Summary

Hemlock Cove is mired in a cold snap, which means the town is calm and quiet. That all changes in an instant when a beer truck tips over on the highway and half the town shows up to get drunk.  Bay Winchester is about to be the sole owner of the town newspaper so she heads out to take photos...and accidentally stumbles over several bodies. It seems there’s a serial killer on the loose, although no one can figure out if the dump site was convenient or if the killer is local.  Some hard digging leads Bay to a local college, where the only thing that stands out is a cellphone game that seems to be taking over the populace. Bay can’t shake the feeling that there’s something off about the game, but that pales in comparison to the dead girls and the motive behind multiple killings.  Things spiral out of control when the game developers pick Hemlock Cove for a big event, which means the town is suddenly flooded with gamers...including Aunt Tillie, who decides that winning really is the most important thing.  Things are about to get wicked for the Winchesters. There’s a killer in their midst and Bay appears to be displaying a new power that no one saw coming.  It’s only a matter of time until two powerful forces collide. Who comes out standing is anybody’s guess but Bay’s new power will be on full display...and may be the ultimate factor in her survival.

Summary

Scout Randall is on the verge of getting information about her past. Patience has never been one of her virtues, though. As she’s waiting for her source to get settled, a new problem arises...and it has fangs. When she was a kid, a chance encounter in a park left Scout questioning the existence of monsters. Now, one of those potential monsters is back, and he’s taken up residence in Hawthorne Hollow. He isn’t alone, either. Vampires are on the prowl, and it’s up to the Spell’s Angels to figure out what they want and eradicate them through any means necessary. That’s easier said than done, though. Scout can’t shake the feeling that something bigger than the obvious is happening, and when her boyfriend’s close friend is infected, she realizes she has to increase her efforts if she wants to save as many people as possible. One vampire is deadly. A nest, though? That can be catastrophic. In this particular case, the head vampire trying to infiltrate Hawthorne Hollow has a plan. And it involves turning as many people as possible. It’s a race against time. Scout has to keep those closest to her safe, while expanding her search for answers. Summary

Avery Shaw has the world at her fingertips...and a pile of dead Santas near the railroad tracks. Interestingly, she’s more focused on the Santas than her personal life, but only because she’s been warned that a proposal is imminent from her live-in love Eliot Kane and she needs to look somewhere else - anywhere else will do - rather than accept what he’s trying to offer. Avery never pictured herself married but it appears it might be happening...no matter how she tries to dodge and weave. The Santas make an enticing distraction, so Avery throws herself in with gusto. Tracking the Santas isn’t easy because Macomb County Sheriff Jake Farrell doesn’t want the names released. He lets one slip, though, and that leads Avery on an adventure...all the way down to a halfway house in Detroit. It’s a big world and some crimes are worse than others. The only common thread Avery can find when chasing this story is a drug ring, and when she pulls that particular thread, everything comes toppling down. The drug world is dark and seamy and Avery is going to need her guile and wits to survive this one. Even if she comes out on the other side - and that’s a big if - then there’s a proposal waiting. It’s finally time for Avery Shaw to grow up...at least a little bit. Come along for the ride, because the big moment is finally here. There might even be a murder to solve along the way.
