Do you know what a chakra is? Do you want to know how to awaken your chakra? The word chakra literally means "spinning wheel" or "disk". When referring to a chakra on the body of a human, the reference means a wheel or a spinning disk of energy that is located along the spinal column. The spine contains seven chakras that are directly connected to the emotional well-being of a person along with the overall health of their mind and their body. The chakra is a focal point inside the human body that can be imagined as a structure of energy that looks like a disk. They are located at a point in the body where many meridians or channels come together. The system of chakras began in ancient India even before modern times. Details of the system were passed down verbally throughout the ages as a tradition in Eastern philosophy. When used in the spiritual and ritual traditions of the Hindu religion the chakra denotes any circumstance that has a circular or cyclical aspect or motion to itself. There is the wheel of creation, the wheel of life, and the wheel of time. These are all naturally cyclical. In the religious aspect, the highest god is depicted as a wheel since he is the source of regularity and order of the rhythm of things. The new age practice of the chakras as defined by the habits of the late-20th-century followers looking for a purer and traditional way of living associates each chakra with a classical element, an aspect of consciousness, various physical functions, and numerous other characteristics that are used to distinguish one chakra from another. The chakras are believed to be the power that provides vitality to the human body and provides influence for the mental movements, emotional movements, and physical movements of the body and the mind. The chakra is the main position of the life energy that flows through each one on specific pathways. The chakra’s main function is to spin on its own axis and use its power to pull in energy and hold that energy inside in order to balance and maintain the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health of the body and the mind. When the New Age movement came into being, it brought a renewed interest in the idea of the chakra. In their effort to adopt and adhere to a more natural lifestyle free from modern influences such as medicines and chemical, people sought the ancient methods of keeping the body healthy both physically and spiritually. The basic nature of the symbol’s original meaning evolved into a modern method that was more relevant to a modern lifestyle. But the basic belief remains the same as the ancient wisdom handed down through the ages.
