Summary

Gilda, Fallon, Noshi: Three children, the sole survivors of the Roanoke massacre. Fallon, the oldest, made a solemn pledge to protect his younger charges at all costs. But before long, they are torn apart; Fallon is sentenced to death, saved at the last moment and sent to England; Noshi is sold as a slave; and Gilda is claimed by her cousin Pocahontas. But Fallon has not forgotten Noshi or Gilda. And so he overcomes all odds to return to America and fulfill his pledge to his murdered parents. But what awaits him is far more treacherous than he dreamed, and those he seeks are far more changed than he could have imagined.
