The average teen is faced with unprecedented exposure to inappropriate viewing, an incredible amount of peer pressure, plus the ‘Get what you want now’ mindset of today. Depending on your age and, whether you are a parent or not, your view on the 'good' technology has provided for the young person may be somewhat agreed upon with caution. Whilst the teenager understands the need for educational achievement; the need to have the latest technological advance gadget; they think they are free from God until they are much older, meaning 30-50’s The good news is that there are hundreds of young people in pursuit of Christ that represents such a wonderful picture to behold. God has always had incredible plans for young people. This is exemplified in the lives of Joseph, David, Archippus, Timothy, and many others. I am completely sold on the idea that young, fervent teenagers are in the centre of God's plan and the scriptures in these book are able to keep them there!

Such questions plague the mind of numerous Believers. One thing you can be sure of is that God speaks in such a way that you and every other Believer can easily understand. My first experience with the subject of depression, in the Bible at least, came from First Kings chapter 19, where Elijah took a journey into the desert and prayed that he might die, saying; "I have had enough Lord take my life I am no better than my ancestors. Then he lay down under the tree and fell asleep." One of the amazing facts that surrounded that particular story was that Elijah had just defeated 800 prophets of Baal by putting them to death and yet when Jezebel pronounced words that she would deal with him severely he ran away. That depression came after a major success! Notice also that the words which made him run away came from an evil demonic source. We need to understand that depression is not of God; depression is of the devil. When we understand this simple fundamental, we can then go forward and deal with this state of mind using the Scriptures. One of the characteristics of being depressed is a feeling of despair, a feeling of helplessness, and then a desire to separate oneself from people; specifically from Believers and others that are able to help. Another sign of depression comes when somebody just wants to cover their heads and sleep all the time. Jonah found himself in this kind of position! When we read the gospels, we come to understand that there are no sicknesses or illnesses that Jesus did not cure. In Matthew chapter four; everyone who came to him with any and every disease or sickness was healed. The same word spoken over the blind that made the blind to see is the same word that we need to speak over the depressed soul and get that soul filled with joy. The Bible tells us that the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edge sword it separates to the dividing of soul and spirit joints and marrow.

I sat in church listening to a charismatic preacher proclaiming the Word of God in an enthusiastic fashion. I was fascinated by the amount of Bible quotations he reeled off in his one-hour message! I was surprised by the fact that though I was a new believer - having been in Christ for just two years - I could complete some of the scriptures he quoted. However, as one year rolled into another I had to face the embarrassing fact that despite being able to finish off many bible verses, the following essential ingredients were missing: 1. I could not tell you where those scriptures were in the Bible. 2. Even if I could locate them using Strong’s Concordance, Bible, biblegateway.com or crosswalk-com, I was not aware of the context in which it was said, the actual storyline and how God intended the scripture to be used. 3. Finally I was forced to face a fact that I was far from being a Berean Christian, miles away from where God will desire for me to be and far from being "...a workman that need not to be ashamed, who correctly handles the Word of truth" (2 Timothy 2). The truth was that if I didn’t understand the context of a particular scripture, someone could easily misquote it to me intentionally or unintentionally and I would believe whatever I was told. This book will help you understand some of those famous bible verses!

Everyone must learn, understand and comprehend the truth surrounding the subject of faith because without faith is it is impossible to please God. Bible also tells us that the righteous will live by faith. Therefore unless we understand and truly begin to walk in the fullness of faith there would be certain things lacking in our spiritual maturity. One awesome scripture in the Book of Romans says that anything that is not done by faith is sin! I wonder how many of us stop to think about that. So therefore this could mean if we don't eat by faith it is sin, if you do not get on the bus by faith it is sin; if you don't drive your car by faith it is sin. This is to show the importance of faith in our lives. Faith is not something that some people have and others do not. Actually in this book I left out this scripture in one Corinthians 12 that talks about the gift of faith which some people have or can manifest through any believer in certain circumstances. I'm talking about the faith that all of us have. So every born-again believer has faith in fact the bible reminds us that we are saved by Grace through faith; so you see you cannot even get saved except that you had the faith of Christ in you. All of us have faith it just depends on how we develop it. I really hope we all learn from this book the truth about faith and how we can all grow/increase in our faith!
