Summary

The Blackhawk region of Colorado has always been home of a certain air of tragic strangeness...this is one tale of many.  In the early 20th century, a fire threatened to consume the entire American West. One man, a dedicated member of the much-derided Rangers, set himself against it. As the blaze devoured the proud timber of the Rocky Mountains, something else was devouring the humanity of the men and women in its path....
