Doc’s life was perfect. Gorgeous wife, amazing son, and a beautiful home. He was living the American dream, until the day it was all taken away. He would spend the next several months in a deep depression trying to figure out what he could have done to avoid losing the life that was so dear to him. He neglected his family and will never have the chance to embrace the sentimental moments he took for granted.  Doc cautiously tries to rebuild his life, but the traumatic experience of losing his nuclear family sends him spiraling into the depths of despair. The Other Side of the Velvet Rope

Summary

The club scene may seem glamorous and classy, but this fictional memoir by a former bouncer and club security manager shines a light on the seedier side of nightlife.

Dwight BoNey spent a decade working in various capacities at clubs before his disgust with club culture became too much for him to handle. Now, through a fictional lens, he looks back at the debauchery on display throughout his career. Your glimpse at The Other Side of the Velvet Rope will be eye opening, educational, and sometimes even horrifying.

Sex, drugs, and violence are normal occurrences for those who make their livings working in clubs. Anyone who has been a bouncer, bartender, or just a club-goer will recognize themselves, their coworkers, and their friends in the diverse set of characters. Anyone who hasn’t been part of the scene will be shocked and scandalized by some of the tales BoNey has to tell.

Swingers, strippers, arsonist firefighters, cowboys, gangsters, and more show up at the club. Dwight BoNey’s depiction of the various types who might turn up on a Saturday night will leave you laughing long after you finish the final page.

Summary

The South is known for being a majestic place with the most hospitable residents, but this fictional novel will unearth the mystical and immoral secrets of the antebellum South. Master Boney is a beautiful Southern belle, a wife, and one of the most ruthless women in the small Southern town of Plat-eyes. Unable to find solace from her favorite bottle of wine, she starts to redirect her anger toward her husband and the slaves on the plantation. She is a tortured soul with a traumatic past that leads her down a path rooted in surreptitious behavior, infidelity, and alcoholism. She becomes more volatile after whooping cough diminishes the free slave labor that provides the Boney family prosperity. Her fear of losing her status as the exalted ruler of this small town forces her to become more diabolical than ever before. She manipulates her husband into crossing the Atlantic with his associates to obtain more slaves to save the plantation and to save their marriage. However, there is a malevolent spirit lurking in the shadows, and everything might not be what it seems.
