Who I am in real life doesn't matter; who I am in the game is what counts. Before it happened, I bumbled my way through the virtual reality massively multiplayer online role-playing game The Greenwood, made crap builds, and wasted my time. Then I got murdered. A shadowy figure took my hard-accumulated possessions and left me to die. I admit, I did a rage quit and deleted my character. Then I wondered what kind of person that rage-quit made me? Maybe I was a quitter? And maybe I really was someone who would let a bully get away with disrespecting me? But then again, no: I respected myself too much for that. I rolled a new character, I vowed to get good, and re-entered The Greenwood. I took on the name Barcud and the profession of ranger. I vowed to rise through the levels, hone my skills, hunt down the shadowy figure, and grind his face in the dirt. This is my story.

The game world is at war, and the forests are on fire.... Newly promoted ranger Barcud provokes the anger of the evil city of Horrabia and rumours of war abound. In a race against time, Barcud must found a village at a strategic river crossing, level it, and defend it against the oncoming threat. But the Rangers Guild can't fight a whole city on their own, and they must seek allies among the unwilling, the unreliable, and the wicked in order to survive. A story set in a virtual reality MMO where PVP is universal and heavy griefing is allowed by the developers to make the stakes ever more real for players. Elements of city building and strategic total war bring this conflict alive and force Barcud to the limits of his abilities as he faces loyalty, loss and likely destruction. Set immediately after A Player in the Greenwood, war is now brewing between the evil city of Horrabia and the city of Vinab for Vinab's part in the humiliating raid by the Rangers Guild and their Vinab allies on Horrabia. Horrabia is raising troops and preparing armies. The ranger Barcud is in the Forest of Nightmares picking poisons when he observes a meeting meant to be secret. He is sure that it is something to do with the impending war.

Romeo el Mejor, best bard in the world, or at least in the City of Vinab in the virtual reality massively multi player online game The Greenwood, is about to put on a play when a goddess appears and asks him to run an errand for her. She promises him a +10 boost to all stats for a month, so how could he refuse? She is also remarkably pretty. A light hearted LitRPG short story set in the Greenwood.

A Bad Man Gets Badder My name is Harald Runestorm. In real life, I help children with their homework and volunteer in a library project for homeless refugees (due to a probation order), but in my spare time, I log into the World of the Greenwood and kill people for fun. Sometimes I torture them too, and I generally rob them, but other days I stay in my tower and craft things. One day, from a shady informant, I heard about a shipment of ore going through the woods. It seemed the Druids Guild was taking its gold to market, so I thought I'd take it off them. I've always hated hippies, with their 'respect the woods' and 'pet butterflies' attitude to life. I wanted them to respect my sword and pet my fist. My Runefist that is. With their face. I went down to the woods to teach them a lesson about pain and loss. Then I learned a lesson myself. A LitRPG short story (15,280 words!) set in The World of The Greenwood MMO.
