Eden at Play: A Grown-Up Fable
Summary
This thought-provoking novella is an extensive update or re-imagining of my 1999 novella Eden in Limbo. It is told in three sections, the first from the perspective of a spiritual guru-type and the next two from many other amusing characters who listen to the guru and observe the strange things that happen, such as a mad monk holding the guru at gunpoint and later stalking a journalist. Eden at Play is religious satire, but it also has spiritual depth to make listeners think about life and their faith or non-faith. Poetry is included as well as a short, poetic version of the story that has a curious child asking his parents questions about the mythological Garden of Eden and death. It's very sensitively described and life-affirming. I also include most of the brief epilogue from the 1999 novella, reflections of my journey as a writer, and recommendations of books mentioned in the novella.

Summary
Dr. Ziggy Freudine is a young psychiatrist with a lot of dreams as she begins her practice. I created her over 10 years ago while reviewing mostly books and movies on a now-defunct website and sometimes she helped me as my amusing alter ego, but this book (first of a trilogy) is not a collection of reviews. It's her story of life in and out of the office as she seeks a free-spirited, unconventional approach to helping clients. She and her few clients are a lot like you or I, people who simply need a listener. This trilogy incorporates romance, comedy, and a reflective journey of self-awareness. If it was rated, it might be PG-13 for implied sex, frank discussion of sex, and some bad language.

Memoir of a Writing Porn Star
Summary
This novel is a satirical look at my life, and I have never written for a porn site. There are four parts to this book: The Rehearsal (trying to figure out my life and men), The Performance (a story in two perspectives about a transgender guy being interviewed), The Reviews, and Pornopraphy (amusing selection of commentary and reviews of media products). I write just a little soft porn for humor, but mostly it's about why my satirical "drag queen" narrator started writing erotica. People who enjoy satire aimed at men/women relationships, conventional people, and the porn industry may love this novel. It's for adults and young adults. I selected reviews written in the past when I was paid to review books, movies, and music on epinions.com for 14 years. Some examples of reviews are Lady Chatterley's Lover, Flesh and the Devil, Zombie Strippers, Anais Nin's Henry and June, and American Gigolo. I end with a more serious epilogue and "author's last words" to help listeners understand the real discrimination faced by nonconforming people.

Dr. Freudine Is In: The Drama Deepens is the middle book of a trilogy about Dr. Ziggy Freudine, a psychiatrist just starting out. In this book she continues to try to understand how to be a helpful and creative psychiatrist and not go crazy in doing so! There's a group of psychiatrists she's been hoping to join so they may guide and support her efforts, but the psychiatrists she's met so far are anything but helpful. She's also continuing to date her first client "Irish," but wonders if stopping his sessions has been such a good idea. He's making her feel even crazier! This book sets up the last book, which will finally answer her questions about her career and relationship choices.
