Summary

Dear Bob and Sue is the story of our (Matt and Karen Smith's) journey to all 59 US National Parks. We wrote the book as a series of emails to our friends, Bob and Sue, in which we share our humorous and quirky observations. It is at times irreverent, unpredictable, and sarcastic, all in the spirit of humor. We describe a few of our experiences in each park but do not provide an exhaustive overview of each experience or park. We use these events as the vehicle to deliver insights about our relationship. We did not intend for this book to be a travel guide nor a recommendation for how to visit all 59 of the US National Parks, although many listeners have said they've found it to be a useful guide. Rather, it is our story about how we did it.

Dear Bob and Sue: Season 3

Summary

A funny and heartfelt travel memoir, Dear Bob and Sue: Season 3 brings to life the joy of the road trip and the humor that comes with experiencing new places and activities. This book is a follow-up to the best-selling book Dear Bob and Sue, a charming and sometimes irreverent chronicle of a middle-aged couple as they visit each of the country's 59 national parks, testing their mettle and stretching their endurance. In their third book of the series, follow Matt and Karen as they work their way around the western United States discovering some of our most beautiful public lands, hidden gems, and revisiting a few of their favorite national parks. Share their trials and tribulations as they hit the road in an RV for the first time in Arizona and hike the same trail the Klondike Gold Rush prospectors took in Alaska. Through a series of emails written to their friends, Bob and Sue, the couple brings the listener along on their adventures, sharing their experiences as they explore some of the lesser known parks and national monuments. By the end of the book, you'll be itching to drag out your hiking boots, dust off your tent, and hit the road.

Dories, Ho!

Summary

Travel with Matt and Karen as they float down the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon. In September 2016, they experienced the trip of a lifetime with 14 friends and a crew of 10 while traveling in wooden dories through the canyon. Dories, Ho! is a story of their adventure and discovery. Similar to their first travel memoir Dear Bob and Sue, this book is as much about their relationship as it is their fantastic trip. Matt and Karen's quirky writing style is both humorous and irreverent. It's fun, laugh out loud, and an easy listen. While not intended to be a traditional guidebook, anyone contemplating a river trip through the Grand Canyon will benefit from this firsthand account. Listeners will feel as if they've traveled with the authors on their journey to and through Grand Canyon National Park. If you are looking for a story that will make you laugh and inspire you to get out and see our incredible national parks, Dories, Ho! is for you.
