A Short and Easy Method of Prayer is an excellent manual on prayer for Christians. It teaches the importance of respectful silence in prayer, patience in prayer, collecting oneself inwardly, seeking God in love, and the total abandonment of oneself to God. Madame Guyon aimed at inducing the world to love God and to serve him with comfort and success, in a simple and easy manner. After her death in 1717 this little book became immensely popular all around the world. In essence, A Short and Easy Method of Prayer encourages us to take time with God and let the word of the divine enter our hearts, through praying and then waiting on God to speak to our hearts.

This little book, A Short and Easy Method of Prayer, was written for a few individuals who wanted to love God with their whole hearts by Madame Guyon, a celebrated French mystical writer of the Quietist school. This book gives simple instructions in contemplative prayer, or prayer without words or distinct ideas. It also encourages listeners to accept all things as from God's hand. At the time of printing, which was a rather stormy era in France's religious history, the work resulted in Madame Guyon being both attacked and defended by some of the most brilliant writers of her day, even resulting in her imprisonment for a time. The work continues to attract strong defenders and critics, but many find in it a fruitful way to seek God.

This little treatise, conceived in great simplicity, was not originally intended for publication. It was put together for a few individuals, who were desirous of loving God with all of their heart. These people wished to obtain copies because of the profit they received from it. Their enthusiasm for Madame Guyon's sort work prompted its publication. It was created for those who are unqualified for intense research, but the result continues to bless learned and common Christians alike.

Intimacy with Jesus is a verse-by-verse commentary on the Song of Songs by Madame Guyon. She beautifully describes the advance of a soul into god by expounding on this most intimate book of the Bible. Surely our relationship with god goes beyond the church walls, and our journey in god does not stop when we accept Jesus as our savior. Be drawn deep into the love of Christ as you become lost in his goodness while listening to this book. Allow the words within to release you from modern Christianity and into the arms of the bridegroom. Enjoy.
