Summary

"Have ye received the Holy Spirit since ye believed?" (Acts 19:2) Scripture clearly separates being born again, the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and being filled with the Holy Spirit. These three are not lumped together as one in Scripture. Instead, they are presented as separate experiences for the Lord's people. Today, however, few people know exactly what the Scriptures say regarding the Holy Spirit, and the consequence is men trying to do things in their own strength. Sadder still is how one group denies the power of the Holy Spirit, while another group pursues the things of the Spirit more than they pursue Christ himself. Somewhere in the middle is the truth. This audiobook takes a close look at Scripture to see what the Lord himself tells us regarding his Holy Spirit and how it relates to us today. Chapters included in this audiobook:  "What Is the Baptism with the Holy Spirit?" "The Baptism with the Holy Spirit Is Necessary" "How to Obtain the Baptism with the Holy Spirit" "The Refilling with the Holy Spirit" "How to Keep Spiritual Power" Original title: The Baptism with the Holy Spirit  About the author Reuben Archer Torrey traveled all over the world leading evangelistic tours, preaching to the unsaved. It is believed that more than 100,000 were saved under his preaching. Torrey married Clara Smith in 1879, with whom he had five children. In 1908, he helped start the Montrose Bible Conference in Pennsylvania, which continues today. He became dean of the Bible Institute of Los Angeles (now Biola University) in 1912, and was the pastor of the Church of the Open Door in Los Angeles from 1915 to 1924. Torrey continued speaking all over the world and holding Bible conferences. He died in Asheville, North Carolina, on October 26, 1928.

How to Bring Men to Christ

Summary

This book was created because it seemed to be needed. The author has been repeatedly requested by ministers, YMCA secretaries, Christian workers, and his own students to put into a permanent and convenient shape the substance of what he has said at conventions, summer schools, and in the classroom on personal work. The time came to yield to these requests.  Never before in the history of the church were there so many who desire to win others to Christ. The good work done by the Young People's Society of Christian Endeavor is in no other direction so evident as in the many thousands of young people in this land who today are on fire with a desire to win souls. But while they desire to do this work, many do not know how. This short book aims to tell them.  There are several well-known and valuable manuals of texts that can be consulted, but this book is intended not only to point out passages to be used but to show how to use them, illustrating this use with cases of actual experience. It is hoped that from a careful study of this audiobook that any earnest Christian can learn how to do efficient work in bringing others to the savior.
