He became dean of the Bible Institute of Los Angeles (now Biola University) in 1912, and was the pastor of the Church of the Open Door in Los Angeles from 1915 to 1924. Torrey continued speaking all over the world and holding Bible conferences. He died in Asheville, North Carolina, on October 26, 1928.

The good work done by the Young People's Society of Christian Endeavor is in no other direction so evident as in the many thousands of young people in this land who today are on fire with a desire to win souls. But while they desire to do this work, many do not know how. This short book aims to tell them. There are several well-known and valuable manuals of texts that can be consulted, but this book is intended not only to point out passages to be used but to show how to use them, illustrating this use with cases of actual experience. It is hoped that from a careful study of this audiobook that any earnest Christian can learn how to do efficient work in bringing others to the savior.
