Summary

The uncanny abilities of London crime-scene specialist Kelly Jacks to coax evidence from the most unpromising of crime scenes once earned her the nickname of The Blood Whisperer. Then, six years ago, Kelly woke next to the butchered body of a man, the knife in her hands and no memory of what happened. Now released after serving her sentence for involuntary manslaughter, she gets a job at a crime-scene cleaning firm. But when she asks questions about a suicide somebody doesn’t want answered, she finds herself fleeing from the police, Russian thugs and a local gangster. Now street smart and wary, can she use everything she’s learned inside to evade capture, stay alive and clear her name?

Summary

Killer Instinct: Charlie Fox, Book 1 is the first in Zoe Sharp's highly acclaimed crime thriller series, now available with previously deleted scenes and a foreword by Lee Child. "Susie Hollins may have been no great shakes as a karaoke singer, but I didn't think that was enough reason for anyone to want to kill her." Charlotte "Charlie" Fox makes a living teaching self-defense to women in a quiet Northern English city. It makes the best use of the deadly skills she picked up after being kicked out of army Special Forces training for reasons she prefers not to go into. So when Susie Hollins is found dead hours after she foolishly takes on Charlie at the New Adelphi Club, Charlie knows it's only a matter of time before the police come calling. What they don't tell her is that Hollins is the latest victim of a homicidal rapist stalking the local area. Charlie finds herself drawn closer to the crime when the New Adelphi's enigmatic owner, Marc Quinn, offers her a job working security at the club. Viewed as an outsider by the existing all-male team, her suspicion that there's a link between the club and the killer doesn't exactly endear her to anyone. Charlie has always taught her students that it's better to run than to stand and fight. But when the killer starts taking a very personal interest, it's clear he isn't going to give her that option....

Summary

No good deed goes unpunished. That's what Charlie Fox discovers when she agrees to dog-sit for a friend, only to find that the friend's housing complex is being terrorized by violent gangs. Desperate and frightened, the residents have hired a freelance "security" firm, whose bully-boy tactics aren't a whole lot more appealing. With her bike on hand and a big dog by her side, Charlie is more than able to take care of herself, until a ghost comes calling - a ghost from some of Charlie's very bad old days. To save the locals of the Lavender Garden estate (and incidentally, her own skin), Charlie's going to have to learn to trust somebody. That's going to be a tough lesson to learn: Trust has never been her strong suit.

For newly qualified crime-scene investigator Grace McColl, it's both the start of a nightmare and the chance to prove herself after a mistake that cost a life. For detective constable Nick Weston, recently transferred from London, it's an opportunity to recover his nerve after a disastrous undercover operation that left him for dead. And for a lonely, loveless teenage girl, Edith, it's the start of a twisted fantasy - one she never dreamed might come true.

Die Easy

Summary

In the sweltering heat of New Orleans, former Special Forces soldier-turned-bodyguard Charlie Fox faces her toughest challenge yet. Her lover, bodyguard Sean Meyer, has woken from a gunshot-induced coma with his memory in tatters. Working with Sean again was never going to be easy for Charlie, but a celebrity fundraising event in aid of still-ravaged areas of New Orleans should have been the ideal opportunity for them both to take things nice and slow. Until, that is, they find themselves thrust into the middle of a war zone. Somebody has a major score to settle, and Sean is part of the reason. Only trouble is, he doesn't remember why. One thing is for certain, though - Charlie is never going to die easy.
