Inspirational, simple Islamic stories and authentic Islamic facts for kids. The book Inspiring Islamic Stories contains three stories; one of them is the most inspiring and unforgettable story of all - Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). This book is filled with good Islamic morals and manners, teaching your child age three and above to understand the importance of good and bad actions. It has been created in recognition of the need for books that tell real, authentic Islamic stories for children. Most of the Islamic books for children available today lack authenticity or are written in a complicated language for young Muslims to understand. Inspiring Islamic Stories is written in a way that even very young kids can easily understand. The author made these stories as authentic as possible by taking stories and information from the Quran, Tafseer Ibn Katheer, Bukhari, Muslim, and other authentic Hadith books and simplifying the language and adding context children can understand, without changing the intended meaning. This simple language results from an interactive reading process between the author and her children. If you are looking for a good and inspiring Islamic book for children age three to 10, this audiobook is a great choice. Don't be surprised if it quickly becomes one of their favorite books they ask to listen to again and again. About the author Julia Hanke was born and raised in Germany. She converted to Islam at the age of 17 and took the name Hafsa to have a Muslim identity. Hafsa studied education and Islamic sciences at a famous German University and achieved her bachelor's degree. At the moment, she is homeschooling her three children.

Devotions written as if Jesus is speaking directly to a child's heart. Based on the original Jesus Calling, this version has been adapted in a language and fashion that kids and tweens can relate to their everyday lives. After many years of writing in her prayer journal, missionary Sarah Young decided to listen to God with pen in hand, writing down what she believed he was saying to her through Scripture. Others were blessed as she shared her writings, until people all over the world were using her devotionals. They are written from Jesus point of view, thus the title Jesus Calling. It is Sarahs fervent prayer that our Savior may bless young listeners with his presence and his peace in ever deeper measure. Meets national education standards.

The Words of My Father captures the nightly dialogue between a father and son before the boy falls asleep. Every evening, before tucking him in, Giuseppe tells his son stories, some from his own life, some fictional, which serve to illustrate the phrases that make up the Lord's Prayer. "Papa, I don't understand!" the boy protests. So his father, step by step, illustrates what the words mean for him in the light of his life and imagination before his son dozes off. The stories transport the boy into far-off kingdoms or into his father's childhood where he learns to reflect on the meaning of words and experiences captured by the Lord's Prayer rather than simply passing over them. Little by little both son and father reach a deeper understanding of fatherhood, kinship, faith, and gratitude.

'I can't see! It's dark everywhere. What place is this? Where am I?' Jeya was only four years old and was terrified as she tried to peer about the dark and gloomy temple. Between the pillars was a huge stone body. She shivered when she saw its face. This, she knew, was Kali, the goddess of death and destruction. Why was Jeya there? Who would leave a little girl in the dark like that? Certainly not the God of love - he sent a woman to rescue these children from destruction - Amy Carmichael. And she had been a little girl herself once a little girl with long dark hair, and deep brown eyes. Once she had even begged God to make them blue - but he hadn't. And as Amy leaned over to pick little Jeya up and rescue her from a life of temple-slavery - she was very glad that God hadn't listened to her prayers. Blue eyes were not the eyes of India - but Amy's brown eyes were.

Many looked on Gladys Aylward's expedition to mainland China as foolhardy and dangerous. It was. On her own, as a single female, she carried her passport and other documents, along with the only money and belongings that she had, in a small briefcase with a teapot and a saucepan tied to the handle. After having purchased her one-way ticket to China, she left the United Kingdom with a single-minded determination to do what God had commanded her. She knew she was meant to go to China - even if no mission was prepared to support her. Unconventional is the only way to describe this journey to the country that would eventually become her home. A theme that would continue throughout her mission work in China where she thwarted authorities, became involved in the Chinese resistance and rescued over 100 children from the invading Japanese army. Written for 9-14 year olds.

A generation stands on the brink of a "rebelution." A growing movement of young people is rebelling against the low expectations of today's culture by choosing to "do hard things" for the glory of God. And Alex and Brett Harris are leading the charge. Do Hard Things is the Harris twins' revolutionary message in its purest and most compelling form, giving readers a tangible glimpse of what is possible for teens who actively resist cultural lies that limit their potential. Combating the idea of adolescence as a vacation from responsibility, the authors weave together biblical insights, history, and modern examples to redefine the teen years as the launching pad of life. Then they map out five powerful ways teens can respond for personal and social change. Written by teens for teens, Do Hard Things is packed with humorous personal anecdotes, practical examples, and stories of real-life "rebelutionaries" in action. This rallying cry from the heart of an already happening teen revolution challenges a generation to lay claim to a brighter future, starting today.

"A great respect for the individuality of the child should be part of our deepest Christian thought; and putting this thought into practice should tend to the personal refinement of every religious teacher. -Dr. Maria Montessori In addition to creating her educational methods, Dr. Maria Montessori spent a lot of time working on a methodology for teaching children about religion. She did quite a bit of writing about her beliefs on how children can be guided in the Christian faith. In this short, new book, Rachel Peachey dives into this deeply religious side of Dr. Montessori and presents the reader with 50 wonderful children's activities, inspired by her teaching philosophy and deep beliefs in Christ. Rachel begins with a basic introduction and overview of the Montessori teaching methodology, and discusses Dr. Montessori's faith. Then she presents activities to help guide children ages 2 to 6, on subjects such as Studying Scripture, God's Creation, Talking to God, and more. Give your children the gift of learning with one of the most powerful methods available today. Give your children the gift of Montessori. "...children embody something so special, a gift so precious, that we can be transformed by them. We just have to open ourselves up to that possibility." -Rachel Peachey

Hurlbut's Story of the Bible has its roots in the old custom of parents telling their children stories from scripture. One of those parents who kept this custom particularly alive and meaningful was Dr. Jesse Lyman Hurlbut. Like many great works of literature, the stories that make up this book were told and retold innumerable times before being set down on paper.

From the author of the best-selling children's book When God Made You comes a rhythmic, whimsical journey through creation - for little listeners who love science and wonder and the beginnings of all things. For spiritual parents who are looking for a different kind of creation book, Matthew Paul Turner's When God Made the World focuses on the complex way that God created our vast and scientifically operating universe, including the biodiversity of life on our planet and the intricacies of a vast solar system. Planet Earth, God made a blue and green sphere, And designed it to orbit the sun once a year. God made daytime and nighttime, climates and seasons, And all kinds of weather that vary by region. God made continents and oceans, islands and seas, A north and south pole that God put in deep freeze. God carved rivers and brooks, mountains and caves, Made beaches with sand and huge crashing waves. God made tropics and plateaus, glaciers and meadows, marshes and tundras and erupting volcanoes.

A thoughtful and age-appropriate introduction to an unimaginable event - the Holocaust. The Holocaust was a genocide on a scale never before seen, with as many as twelve million people killed in Nazi death camps - six million of them Jews. Gail Herman traces the rise of Hitler and the Nazis, whose rabid anti-Semitism led first to humiliating anti-Jewish laws, then to ghettos all over Eastern Europe, and ultimately to the Final Solution. She presents just enough information for an elementary-school audience in a well-researched book that covers one of the most horrible events in history. Includes a letter from the editor and series creator, Jane O'Connor.

Getting rid of your belly bulge is important for more than just vanity's sake. Excess abdominal fat - particularly visceral fat, the kind that surrounds your organs and puffs your stomach into a "beer gut" - is a predictor of heart disease, type-2 diabetes, insulin resistance, and some cancers. If diet and exercise haven't done much to reduce your pooch, then your hormones, your age, and other genetic factors may be the reason why. There are three types of fat: triglycerides (the fat that circulates in your blood), subcutaneous fat (the layer directly below the skins surface), and visceral fat (dangerous belly fat). Visceral fat is located beneath the muscles in your stomach and poses many dangers to your health when there is too much of it. Belly fat doesnt just sit there; it can have negative impacts on almost every organ in your body through the productions of excess hormones and chemicals. Having too much visceral fat can put you at risk for many other health issues such as cardiovascular disease, type-2 diabetes, and colorectal cancer. How do you know if you have too much belly fat? An easy way to determine if you have too much belly fat is to measure yourself at home. Take a measuring tape and wrap it around your bare stomach, directly above your hip bone. The tape should be snug but not too tight. For women, a measurement of 35 inches or more indicates an unhealthy amount of belly fat. For men, a measurement of 40 inches or more indicates an unhealthy measure.

Three thousand years ago, deep inside the forests of India, a great 'thought- revolution' was brewing. In those forest labs, the brightest scientist-philosophers contemplated the universe and reflected upon the already-ancient texts called the Vedas, gaining some startling insights into questions that we still have no watertight answers to, like: What is the universe made of? How do I know I'm looking at a tree when I see one? Who am I? My body, my mind, my intelligence, my emotions, or NOTA? And where did they put those explosive findings? In a sprawling body of goose-bumpy, thought-provoking and fascinating oral literature called the Upanishads! Intimidated? Don't be! For this joyful, fun guide to some of India's most enduring and secular wisdoms, reinterpreted for first-time explorers by author Roopa Pai, is guaranteed to keep you listening. Is your tween prepared for what's ahead? It used to be that middle school was the time to talk to kids about topics like modesty and body image. Unfortunately, the at-risk demographic for distorted views on the body is now girls ages 8-10. Fortunately, Dannah Gresh has provided a resource for this need. Secret Keeper Girl is geared toward helping tween girls understand their dignity in Christ. Here's what author Dannah Gresh has to say about the motivation behind the book: "My past 15 years of studying at-risk teen and tween behavior has over and over again led me to good news: girls who are exposed to an age-appropriate, Bible-based understanding of beauty and fashion between the ages of 8-12 tend to be less likely to engage in early sexual activity or have body image issues. They are also more likely to have healthy friendships, excel academically, and become positive social contributors in their communities, all while expressing their beauty and value appropriately. "It's not rocket science. It is social science paired with a whole lot of prayer and Bible study. We can change what tween girls see when they look in the mirror by changing what's inside their hearts." This is the heart behind Secret Keeper Girl: a desire to teach tween girls how valuable they are and how to honor their God-given dignity. Ultimately, it's about grounding girls in their identity in Christ so the tumultuous teen years don't uproot them.

Bloomsbury presents The Lemon Tree (Young Readers' Edition) by Sandy Tolan, read by Rami Medina. In 1967, a 25-year-old refugee named Bashir Khairi travelled from the Palestinian hill town of Ramallah to Ramla, Israel, with a goal: to see the beloved stone house with the lemon tree in its backyard that he and his family had been forced to leave 19 years earlier. When he arrived, he was greeted by one of its new residents: Dalia Eshkenazi Landau, a 19-year-old Israeli college student whose family had fled Europe following the Holocaust. She had lived in that house since she was 11 months old. On the stoop of this shared house, Dalia and Bashir began a surprising friendship, forged in the aftermath of war and later tested as political tensions ran high and Israelis and Palestinians each asserted their own right to live on this land. Adapted from the award-winning adult book and based on Sandy Tolans extensive research and reporting, The Lemon Tree is a deeply personal story of two people seeking hope, transformation and home.

With events happening around us and things we hear on the news every day, it is easy to give in to fear. The Devil has revved up his attacks on things that we hold so dear and has increased our susceptibility to failure, rejection, sickness, losing a loved one, and being alone, and this has rather built up our fears. Fear is a tyrant, a bully we cant hide from. It can paralyze our spirit, damage our relationships, and hinder us from achieving the goals we set for ourselves. Today people are scared of committing themselves to a serious relationship for fear of betrayal, people are scared to go into business for fear of failure, people are scared they will soon be diagnosed with a terminal ailment that will take their life. People are afraid of the unknown. Fear is a weapon established by Satan to perpetually put you down. But God has given us faith to counter every fear of the Devil. God said he hasnt given us the Spirit of fear but of sound mind. For you to have that sound mind, you must develop your faith in God. The Audacity of Faith teaches you practical steps to build your faith in order to overcome all your fears and make you produce unbelievable results using biblical principles that Abraham, Moses, Isaac, Daniel, and a host of other faith heroes used to move God to act. Kelvin Armstrong provides faith-based teachings that give you peace to conquers all fears that have been a stumbling block on your path. The teachings in this book include: Understanding the character of God when faith is involved The stronghold of faith Greater faith for positive results Faith propelled by the voice of God Pushing your faith to work A renewed mind of faith for healing Testimonies resulting from trusting God in faith The Audacity of Faith is a book that will build your faith like never before and enable you to take seemingly impossible steps in life. It will embolden you to put all your eggs in Gods basket and your life will never be the same anymore.

He defended the faith and became Christianitys first martyr. Stephen lived a life full of faith, performing miracles, boldly telling others about Jesus and even serving with others to help widows in their time of need. Then, his courageous witness was silenced. However, the gospel could not be stopped, as his martyrdom caused the gospel to be pushed outside the city walls of Jerusalem and into the surrounding region. Written to inspire children to witness boldly for Jesus Christ, Gods Courageous Witness is a reminder of the Holy Spirits power when we face opposition for the Lords sake.

Look behind the legends and tales of Santa Claus to learn the true story of a steadfast, godly man who refused to deny Christ and then suffered for his sake. When Nicholas was a young boy, both of his parents died, and he used his inheritance to help others. As a grown man, he became a leader in the church. He was later imprisoned under the Roman Emperor Diocletian, who imprisoned church leaders in an effort to stop the spread of the gospel. After Nicholas was released, he faced a new challenge: A wrong teaching had infiltrated the church. Nicholas had to stand for truth, but that, too, came with a price. However, it did not deter him from generously giving to those in need until his death. Gods Courageous Gift-Giver will inspire children to give gifts to others.
