Summary

A retired fire chief pens reflections on his life as a volunteer firefighter. Fire Chief by Ed Daniels shares experiences and sacrifices until now known only to the volunteers themselves. In his first novel, Fire Chief: The Story of a Volunteer Firefighter, author Ed Daniels recalls his life as a volunteer firefighter in the mountains of Colorado. Based on actual events, the book takes listeners into the heat that countless volunteer firefighters face every day throughout the world. Most people don't realize that the majority of the firefighters, EMTs, and paramedics who respond to fires and accidents in rural areas are volunteers. These first responders sacrifice time with their families and their careers, responding at a moment's notice to protect the lives and property of those who need them. While he fictionalizes his characters and locations, Fire Chief describes Daniels' actual experiences and encounters in frightening detail. He relates stories of house fires, wildfires, car accidents, and back country rescues as they really happened. We gain insight into what was going through his mind, his emotions, and his reactions as he responded to horrific incidents sometimes involving family and friends. Woven throughout his emergency encounters, Daniels describes what it is like for a volunteer fire chief trying to balance the load of raising a family, handling a career, and leading a team of sometimes-unruly volunteers. Listeners go along for the journey as he grows into an expert leader who eventually retires and reflects on his lifetime of bravery and public service. Daniels said, "I want others to be inspired to volunteer and to see for themselves what life is like as a first responder. People should have a better understanding of what their neighbors and friends are experiencing as volunteer firefighters, EMTs, and paramedics."

The Testimony of Satan

Summary

I can remember it like it was yesterday. It was January 1st of 2012 around 3:00 am. I awoke from a force that was so strong that it had me reaching down for my bed which I was laying on (literally it had lifted me off my bed). I immediately grabbed for my journal and pen in obedience to a still small voice. I was accustom to always keeping a journal and pen nearby because that is actually one of the 4 R's (Record) of Formula forty days and forty nights which I was previously working on. As I begin to write per instructions of that still small voice my hand was shaking and my heart was racing, because I was writing about Satan in first person. As I continued to write I begin to pray for peace, provision, and protection. A great calm came over me but it was as if I was still in a trance. I wrote for at least the next 10 hours nonstop until there was no more room left in my journal. I'm writing this explanation for the controversial title as an apology to any that I may have offended. Please understand that more attention is really something that I could do without. I am very content with my portion in life and do not seek many things outside of the path which the creator has provided for me. This audiobook has nothing to do with worshiping anything created. It will however challenge a lot of our thinking and actions. We are so much greater than our actions dictate most of the time. My prayer is that the Testimony of Satan will clear up a lot of myths and identify areas of fear so that we are able to remove them. If at any point in the audiobook you begin to become very confused, angry, fearful, or just feeling betrayed. I would suggest that you put the audiobook down for a few days and seek clarity through prayer, meditation, or whatever is the most effective outlet for you. This audiobook was not written to be confusing but anything that is extremely powerful also has the potential to be extremely dangerous.

An oversight of Biblical Proportions. This book will be hard to put away. You will sense the Holy Spirit in the writing but from one down-to- earth man. Sensitive to a world that has both believers and non-believers where scientists are constantly commenting on TV about how the earth is made and the universe. They never give God any credit nor do they seem to think any God could have created it all. You will see the universe and God and how they relate in this teaching! This book is intended for all audiences! Jon confesses that he is not a Pastor or authority in theology, but that he just lets the wisdom come to him as he writes, and it is amazing!
