Summary
"She was wearing a skimpy summer dress and as the desert wind blew, it felt chilly. We went to a small airstrip nearby and boarded a Micro Lite. It was just the two of us, the pilot, the producer, and his wife who would take the pictures. I was going to propose marriage to her over the sky." Paige and Jordan fall in love, and seem to live what looks like a normal life. However, their tastes are quite expensive, and soon find themselves out of money. Each of them has a secret life that they have not revealed to the other. Paige lets her friends know that Jordan is at fault; Jordan blames Paige. They both blame the other for not giving them what they want. They make friends, but end up scamming them, oftentimes without the other knowing. Paige's past reveals that she had killed a former female friend during a fight over a mutual boyfriend. Her past catches up with her, when someone locates her who has suspected this, and blackmails her. Jordan, on the other hand preys on lonely cougars (older woman) from whom he steals money to support his nasty habits of drugs and gambling. When one of the cougar's husband, discovers his wife is cheating on him, and her lover is stealing from them, he is out for vengeance, and Jordan needs to somehow escape. Jordan reveals his antics to Paige and together they plot to solve the problem. Their plan is to go disappear, set up a life insurance scam, escape to Australia to the Great Barrier Reef. There they would board a catamaran, and disappear while diving, leaving some of their scuba equipment behind to float up to a beach, making those who find it think they have been eaten by sharks. Once they figure they are safe, they begin scheming again, so they can keep up with their rich lifestyle. Only this time it even gets worse.

The Candy Man of Houston
Summary
Dean Corll was an electrician for Houston Power and Light, but most of Henley's friends knew him as the Candy Man, so named because he had labored for years in the candy manufacturing plant that he and his mother had once owned. Corll was famous for giving away candy to the kids. Little did they know that "the Candy Man of Houston" was in fact a sadistic, cruel, remorseless rapist and murderer. Between September 25, 1970 and August 3, 1973, Corll killed at least 28 young men and boys, and the actual number of victims may have been more than 30. They were all systematically lured into his trap and then beaten, tortured, raped, and strangled to death, and most victims found bore evidence of sexual torture: pubic hairs had been plucked out, genitals had been chewed, objects had been inserted into their rectums, and glass rods had been shoved into their penis and smashed. In the aftermath, two young men, Elmer Wayne Henley and David Brooks, Corll's two main accomplices in the heinous crimes, confessed that they had been forced to participate against their will, and Corll himself - by now having been shot dead by Henley - was the lone culprit in the torturous murders. But was he?
