Summary
Cam'ron and Raheem hail from the notorious Brick City in Newark, New Jersey. The two friends grew up eating noodles off of the same fork, now they are primed to eat off the drug game. From the Bricks to the ATL, niggas must bow down or get laid down.
Cam'ron epitomizes the grimy streets of Newark. He's a supreme hustler with a vicious murder game. Cam'ron loves four things: his money, family, his homie, and his boo. Touch either one and you get served, Cam'ron warns the streets. Of course Newark niggas are the grimiest, so they don't take heed to Cam'ron's threat; they touch all of the above.
Tamika, who is Cam'ron's boo, makes shit hotter when she sets out to show him that he's not the only hustler checkin' for her, and she does not have to condone his womanizing. When Tamika gets with a hustler who refuses to let her go back to Cam'ron, the consequences get catastrophic for somebody.
Meanwhile, Raheem, who is the polar opposite from his man, is quietly putting his G down in the dirty south. When ATL thugs test Raheem's gun they find out that a quiet storm is the deadliest. Raheem is as gentle with his woman as he is proficient with his murder game.
Kayundra, Raheem's shorty, has fallen into drug addiction, and it has her in a vise grip. Raheem's love for Kayundra never wavers. He helps her beat her addiction, and soon she's refocused on her dream of becoming an R and B diva. With Raheem's help Kayundra lands a recording deal, and almost overnight she becomes a star. But success comes at a price that threatens to shatter their love.
Raheem and Cam'ron go hard for what they want, and they attain it, leaving a lot of bodies along the way. They make many mothers bury their sons and shed tears, but on the road to hood fame and riches they learn that sometimes the enemy strikes back and it's your turn to cry. When the blood and tears stop falling will what Cam'ron and Raheem gained be worth what they both lose?

"There I go doing it again," she said to herself, referring to the way that she periodically smiled at the thought of how her hard work had paid off. "After all, I deserve to toot my own horn. And if I don’t, who will?" As Spicy sat caressing the seating, she smiled once again in a vain attempt to shield those in the room from the narcissism with which she’s so heavily fragranced. "The lighting is just perfect," she thought aloud as the movers waited for instructions on placement of the extremely heavy sofa table. "Oh! Forgive me for being so inconsiderate; its fine to just sit it next to the winding staircase." "That will surely knock them off of their feet," she said to the men. "What do you fellows think?" After looking at her blankly, they glared at one another in dismay at the nerve of the overbearing, self-centered, self-righteous, late 30-something and understandably single daydreaming professional. You fellows must be tired of me by now. This is my third move this year. It didn’t seem to dawn on her that the movers only worked for the company and hadn’t a clue, nor concern that she had moved two times already that year. She wouldn’t be missed much by friends for they were few, and she would be content as long as she was to find someone else to manipulate. Spicy and resilient. Just as her name implied this young lady comes prepared with an east coast game that was unwavering.

Summary
CJ is devastated when he comes home to find Tamika on the floor unconscious and leaking blood from several execution-style gunshot wounds. As he holds her in his arms tearfully begging God not to take her away, he already knows that if she dies, he is going to turn Newark, New Jersey, into a killing field. Raheem has just lost the love of his life to suicide, and although he is grieving, nothing can get in the way of him helping CJ go up against a foe as ruthless as any he has ever faced before. But when Raheem's loyalty collides with his Islamic faith and the chance to love again presents itself, his principles get tested. Nard is not only out to dethrone CJ as Newark's drug king, he is death-bent on annihilating CJ's whole team. This beef isn't about drugs; it's about a woman, and it's very personal.
