Summary
Years ago, I used to sell some of my short stories to online horror and sci-fi magazines for extra pocket money. I didn't make much - usually $10 to $25 a pop - but it was extra money, and the stories were fun to write, too. This little gem here was one of the $10-stories, as you will clearly see after you listen to it. In all honesty, I considered it to be more like a $5-story, but wasn't going to turn down an extra five bucks. LOL Anyway, this little gem is a crossover between the new wave vampire mythos and nasty aliens from another galaxy, both of them converging in the wrong place at the wrong time - at least for the alien, that is. Vampire hookers are not very forgiving if you tread on their turf.

Summary
Deep in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, this maximum-security penitentiary held some of the most vicious criminals known to the Western United States. My Best Friend Forever
Summary
I believe, at times, a lot of people don't realize just how much pets can improve their lives. Pets make us laugh, make us feel better when we are sick or depressed. They make sure you are never lonely. They can even lower your stress levels, resulting in a lower risk of strokes, heart attacks, and other health problems. Having pets in the house also teaches your kids about responsibility, and gives them a forever friend that makes them feel safe and secure while their parents are at work. There are so many advantages to having a pet, it's hard to understand why anyone wouldn't want a pet in the house - and treat them like a member of the family. In my home, my cat, Tobey, IS a member of our family. He has proven to be irreplaceable in terms of providing all of us with love and affection and companionship. In my case - one of myself being the main caregiver for my ailing mother and having no real social life - he has proven to be not only my best friend, but a bright spot for my mother too, on those dark, dreary days when all hope seems lost for someone in her current physical condition. Cats can sense illness, too. He knows that Mom is in bad shape, and the end could be near at any moment, and on the days are long and hard for her, there he is, lying by her chair or bed, watching over her. At the end of each long, tiring day, when I am feeling so lonely, depressed, and, at times, ready to give up all hope, there he is, laying by my chair or sitting on the lamp table next to me or sitting in my lap purring up a storm, reminding me he is always there to comfort me and watch over me - just like I did for him so many years ago. This is our story.

Once an Alcoholic, Always an Alcoholic?
Summary
One thing rings true about all substance abusers - whether it be alcohol or drugs or both - at one point in time, they will tell you two things: I don't have a problem. I can quit anytime I want to. Which, of course, is far from the truth. Once that demon is on your back, weighing you down day after day and week after week and month after month and year after year, the option you once had to stop on your own is long gone now. A person's addictions - and don't let anybody fool you into thinking differently, it is an addiction - can suck your very heart and soul dry of who you once were. You cannot stop on your own, either. You need help. You need God. But first of all, you need to admit you have a problem and stop fooling yourself into thinking you don't.

As an “amateur” filmmaker, I can't rightfully boast of being another Spielberg or Eastwood, but I know a really crappy movie when I see one. For example: the ever-present “final girl” chase scene at the end of most low-budget horror films. There is always a faceless killer you only see as a shadow or wearing a hockey mask and carrying some sort of weapon that just happened to be handy at the time, like a big knife or chainsaw or machete. And the killer is always chasing a bleach blonde bimbo with cruise missle boobs hanging out of her skimpy top, her loud, banshee-like screaming making your teeth grind as she proceeds to cry hokey, crocodile tears as the killer closes in on her. In reality? That is not the way it happens at all. I should know, from experience...

Luther Biggs was an amazing young man. Born mentally challenged and with an IQ of only 70, he had a wonderful rapport with animals, could compose lovely poetry, and everybody who met him loved him dearly. But he was also birthed from tainted blood; Luther Biggs, Sr., a tall, powerfully built man with arms like 10-pound hams and the strength of an ox, was also prone to long alcoholic binges as well as bouts of extreme physical violence. Some folks said he was just plain evil personified - until a police sniper's bullet ended his life. Can Luther Jr. ever escape his past, get rid of his own inner demons, and live a happy life? Only time will tell, because the ghost of his dead father now seems to be haunting the local woods nearby, and his son may be the only one who can end his reign of terror before it's too late.
