Eines Tages schließt ein Flugzeug in unbegreiflichen Kreisen über die aufgescheuchte Gnuherde, berührt den Boden und rast auf einen Abgrund zu, der sich wie ein gähnender Schlund durch die Savanne zieht. Polternd und schleifend wird sie langsamer, scheint dann stehen zu bleiben und hebt sich mit ungeheurem Schwung in den Abgrund.
