After Midnight

Summary

After Midnight continues the memories of my life and the many mistakes I made along the way. This up-and-down ride includes fun times, not-so-fun times, and sad times that came to mind after writing the other books in the Bitter Memories series. Many of the secrets Henry had kept hidden over the years are revealed here. Deciding to try to mend fences with Olivia, I learned you never can go home again, or at least I never could.

Bitter Memories

Summary

Multiple personalities take over Sarah's mind...only so they can protect her. Abducted by her father when she was three, Sarah found herself in a world of criminal neglect and unfathomable oppression as her father and stepmother perpetrated more and more horrible acts of verbal, mental and sexual abuse on the innocent girl. So continually terrified was Sarah that she began to form separate personalities so that she herself did not have to face the hideous reality of her day-to-day life. Only through the nightmare pictures that the other personalities sometimes presented to her while she slept did Sarah have any hint about the horrific abuse she was being subjected to. The personalities would block out time for Sarah and bear the horror of the experiences themselves so that their dear Sarah would not have to. Although the names in this unforgettable story have been changed from those in real life, the horrors that occurred are factual. This tale of the author's early life - a life on the run, hungry, terrified, and molested - is a true and unnervingly gripping account of the extremes of neglect and mistreatment a child can undergo. Bitter Memories: A Memoir of Heartache and Survival is dedicated to all adult survivors of abuse and is written with the hope that exposing these horrors will help to prevent them from happening to others. Child abuse is a national epidemic. By sharing my story, I hope people will get involved when they see, or suspect, child abuse. Call the police! You could make a difference in a child's life so he or she wouldn't have to endure a life of pain. To the survivors of abuse, by telling my story it can give hope. They will learn they are not alone and there is healing on the other side of those feelings that try to destroy a life of happiness.

From the Heart

Summary

From the Hearti is a collection of poems written over the years, with short stories included that inspired the writing of each one. My first poem, written when I was nine years old, was right after the death of my mother. As with all my poetry, when I couldn't get words out of my head, I had to sit down and write about my feelings, my thoughts, my sorrows, and my happiness. Unable to talk to anyone about my feelings, I expressed my dreams, my hopes for a better life in my writing. Things never shared with anyone before are exposed here. As many of my hidden feelings come to light-some good, some heartbreaking-or at least they were heartbreaking to me at the time-I hope you enjoy taking a walk back in time with me.

Zip Ties and Lies: The Anderson/DiMaggio Case

Summary

Who REALLY killed the Andersons? Who's behind the cover up? That is the question! A 911 call to the San Diego Police Department on August 4, 2013 reporting a two-story fire in Boulevard, California is only the beginning of many harrowing events to follow. After a woman's body and the body of a dog is found inside a detached garage, murdered, a bloody crowbar next to the woman's body, the dog shot in the head, the homeowner and two kids are reported missing. Assuming homeowner James Lee DiMaggio killed the children's mother, Christina Anderson - the woman's body discovered in the garage - setting his home on fire, he then kidnapped Anderson's two children, Hannah age 16 and Ethan age eight. The following day the remains of a child, burned beyond recognition is found inside DiMaggio's burned-to-the-ground home. And even this is only the beginning. After a week-long manhunt, DiMaggio, maybe an innocent man, based on information from San Diego Sheriff Bill Gore, is then shot down by the FBI in what appears to be actions of a firing squad. The public has doubts on the validity of what is being told. Stories continue to morph, and more doubts arise. More and more lies brings the question of Hannah and Brett Anderson's innocence into doubt - at least for the public. But the story doesn't end here. This story is only beginning...
