Do creation days reveal God’s future plans? Was the flood universal or localized? When God said, “Let there be light,” did he foretell the incarnation? Is there a connection between Noah’s sons and the Middle East today? It turns out the Bible is one of the most misunderstood and mysterious books ever written. Although a best seller, the Bible is rarely read or thoughtfully analyzed, except by ministers and theologians. The Bible actually has the power to change people and cultures, but usually sits on a shelf, inert, its powers trapped between its covers. Scriptural Thoughts is an analysis of the Bible's deeper meanings and unique concepts, many revealed for the first time. Using the Scriptures, this short audiobook offers a ‘read between the lines’ spiritual examination by applying metaphor to Scripture verses and truth. Ray Cross was a design engineer for IBM, involved with advanced technology being built in the Silicon Valley of California during the 60’s and 70’s. Through thorough research, Bible reading, hours of study and analytical thought, Ray became convinced of the truth of God’s word.

The two protagonists in John A. Bercaw's new adventure, a warrant officer and a second lieutenant, don't comprehend the full extent of the peril awaiting them when their helicopter crashes into the jungle of Vietnam. All the warrant officer had to do was fly a few newly assigned officers on a tour over their area of operations. It was an easy mission, and he didn't anticipate the enemy shooting down the helicopter and killing most of the passengers and crew. The only other survivor is the inexperienced second lieutenant. The warrant officer fears that his new companion will be useless in the struggle for survival ahead of them. As the two soldiers confront the Vietcong and the many challenges of the harsh landscape, they gain the level of trust and respect for each other that only arises from extreme situations. They both realize that it will take nothing short of a miracle for them to make it out of the jungle alive.

Many of the details in this audiobook you may have read elsewhere. On the other hand, many more are untold stories. If it were not for Francis Stacey, Eric Stacey's widow, this book would not have been made. For it was Fran who wanted, encouraged, and supported the story about a special man in a magical time. Eric Stacey from Ramsgate (Kent) England, an assistant director, who was often relegated to the sidelines as a traffic cop, and his ultimate work seen in Gone with the Wind. As its producer, David O. Selznick wrote (December 5, 1942) in part, "...[Stacey's] activities were those connected with Gone with the Wind, a picture making extraordinary demands on [his] position." In retrospect, there seems to be a certain element of fantasy, paranoia, artifice, and illusion in these recollections. Except for the apparitions that haunted the cast and crew of the film to the end of their lives. Native New Yorker Gene Arceri began his career with various theatre enterprises at the Lincoln Center and elsewhere. He now resides in San Francisco, where he is a multi-media personality. Arceri's books on Elizabeth Taylor, Susan Hayward, Betty Hutton, and "Charlie of Nob Hill" have been well-received worldwide, as has his column for the past 10 years for Jo Lee Magazine on the internet.

John Bercaw's journey to Vietnam started at the beginning of the Korean War when, as a young boy, he thrilled to see his first helicopter as it defied gravity and common sense by flying. A circuitous route through troubled teenage years and four years in the Marines led him to Fort Wolters, Texas, and the US Army's Warrant Officer Rotary Wing Aviation Course. For the first time in his life, he felt a deep sense of belonging. John's successful struggle to master the beast called helicopter earned him an all-expense-paid trip to South Vietnam and the opportunity to prove himself as a combat pilot. His year of war was not as expected. Awed by the lush landscapes of Vietnam and the unexpected moments of war's savage beauty, Bercaw changed his mind about war and its effect on the men who fought in it. He found himself able to overcome fear and doubt in combat and do his job to the best of his ability. Based on the books he had read and the movies he had seen, he had not anticipated the addiction to the highs and lows brought on by the intensity of war. The difficult part came at the end. Leaving Vietnam before the war was over, the sudden end to the daily adrenalin rushes and the sense of being part of something important-aggravated by the shameful reception experienced by all returning veterans-initiated a period of depression that haunted him for years.
