In one corner: Connie Brooks (Eve Arden), the teacher who elevated education to a plateau never before realized from a transmitter! In the other corner: Osgood Conklin (Gale Gordon), the pompous principal of Madison High School who is the undisputed champion of the slow burn! On hand for the main event is a charismatic cast of characters, including squeaky-voiced student Walter Denton (Richard Crenna). As both the romantic interest of Conklin's daughter, and as one of Miss Brooks' leading co-conspirators, he was viewed with a jaundiced eye by the omnipresent principal. And, let's not forget the frog-fascinated Philip Boynton (Jeff Chandler, Robert Rockwell), for whom Miss Brooks has a romantic interest of her own. As Connie's commander-in-chief, Conklin is frequently the victor in their battles. But, it's Miss Brooks who usually gets the last laugh in these 20 digitally remastered and restored rounds of madcap mayhem. “Brotherhood is not so wild a dream as those who profit by postponing it pretend.” Widely acclaimed as the greatest writer-director-producer of the Golden Age of Radio, Norman Corwin perfected his own unique recipe for success: Begin with the human mind and knead gently; add a dash of poetry, wit and wonder; add a cup of raw passion and stir vigorously; garnish with sound effects, and marinate in a musical score. Season liberally with intelligence and digest slowly. Corwin’s works - musicals, fantasies, satires, and dramas - were presented on CBS in prestige series under his own direction, including The Columbia Workshop and Columbia Presents Corwin. His poetic language and progressive world-view combined to maximum effect in the masterpieces that launched a country in to war and eased it back in to peace. As this patriotic American citizen, traveler of the world, and lover of words turns 100 years old, we take a look at 18 of his works and ponder their lessons. Episodes Include: Bill of Rights Special: We Hold These Truths 12-15-41; V-E Day Special: On a Note of Triumph 05-13-45; The Columbia Workshop: The Plot to Overthrow Christmas 12-22-40; They Fly Through the Air with the Greatest of Ease 04-10-39; The Columbia Workshop (26 By Corwin): Descent of the Gods 08-03-41; Mary and the Fairy 08-31-41; The Gulf Screen Guild Theater: Between Americans 12-07-41; Forecast: To Tim at Twenty (Excerpt) 08-19-40; V-J Day Special: 14 August 08-14-45; This is War!: America at War 02-14-42; An American in England: Cromer 12-01-42; The Columbia Workshop (Columbia Presents Corwin): The Long Name None Could Spell 03-14-44; Untitled 05-30-44; The Odyssey of Runyon Jones 04-04-44; El Capitan and the Corporal 07-25-44; The Undecided Molecule 07-17-45; One World Flight: Introduction 01-14-47; United Nations Radio: Could Be 10-20-49.

In the realm of unforgettable radio voices, there is one that stands head and shoulders above all others - one distinctive voice that could never be convincingly duplicated, one that brought its owner undreamed of success. It was a voice of sandpaper and gravel and rusty scrap iron, rasping over a nation's loudspeakers for more than 30 years. The one and only: Rochester. As Benny's valet, he was a servant, but he was never servile. From the start, Rochester had his boss sized up and knew exactly how to manipulate him to suit his own purposes. This collection brings you some of Rochester's finest moments with Jack, Mary Livingston, Don Wilson, Phil Harris, Kenny Baker, and Dennis Day. Dragnet was radio's most successful police procedural series, and by far its most influential, shaping an entire generation's view of law enforcement, and bringing police work to life in carefully-documented detail. Never sensationalistic, but always a gripping listening experience, Jack Webb's signature creation remains the standard against which crime dramas are judged. Webb, who produced and directed the series, stars as Sergeant Joe Friday in gritty dramas of unprecedented realism. These ripped-from-official-files stories of every day cops, as originally broadcast in the summer and fall of 1951, co-star Barton Yarborough as Sergeant Ben Romero. Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar debuted in 1948 and endured for 14 years as one of the most popular programs of latter day radio drama. In fact, it became the last network drama when it ultimately signed off the air in 1962. An eminently appealing character, Dollar was pragmatic, flirtatious, and sympathetic (to a point) - better at reserving judgment than he was at restraining his impulses. This set brings you the voices of all eight men who took on the role of "America's fabulous freelance insurance investigator" - from the well-known to the obscure - including the two actors who only appeared in audition recordings. Featured here are Dick Powell, Charles Russell, Edmund O'Brien, John Lund, Gerald Mohr, Bob Bailey, Bob Readick, and Mandel Kramer (who had the distinction of being the very last leading man in a network radio drama). Episodes Include: Dick Powell: Milford Brooks III (Audition) 12-08-48; Charles Russell: Case of Barton Drake 04-22-49; Who Took the Taxis for a Ride? 07-24-49; Anne Connelly 12-03-49; Edmond O'Brien: Yankee Pride Matter 10-14-50; Woodward Manila Matter 11-25-50; Hannibal Murphy Matter 11-03-51; John Lund: The Walter Patterson Matter 12-26-52; The Baltimore Matter 01-02-53; The Kay Bellamy Matter 01-30-53; Gerald Mohr: The Trans-Pacific Matter (Audition) 08-29-55; Bob Bailey: The Sea Legs Matter 07-30-56 - 08-03-56; The Curse of Kamashek 09-03-56 - 09-07-56; The Burning Carr Matter 12-09-56; The Missing Mouse Matter 12-23-56; Bob Readick: Wayward Fireman Matter 02-12-61; Latrodectus Matter 04-16-61; Mandel Kramer: The Guide to Murder Matter 11-19-61; The Tip-Off Matter 09-30-62.
