How to Improve Your Memory and Keep That Memory Door Open

Summary

In this new book you will find how to improve your memory. Improving your memory, in the most basic form, means decreasing what you forget. Studies have shown that people who constantly forget where they parked their car to appointments and due dates, experience higher levels of stress. Conversely, when you begin to remember more, your stress levels decrease exponentially. And here's some great news: Lowering your stress levels actually increases your memory even more! By removing the fear of forgetting, your stress levels decrease, upping the likelihood that you'll remember what you need to. In other words, increasing your memory is a cyclical process to, well, increasing your memory. Other benefits of lower stress: Your cortisol levels drop, bringing a ton of great health benefits from weight loss to better sleep. These Methods When you work actively to improve your memory, you're able to retain information more readily. A better memory means you can grasp concepts and apply them to other situations, speeding up your learning. As you amass different concepts and bits of knowledge, your memory will begin to connect the dots between concepts and form web-like chains, increasing your understanding. Learning faster can mean a faster track to career success. If you can catch on to new concepts and skills quickly, you've definitely got a leg up. By speeding up your learning abilities you can process information faster and make decisions quickly. The human brain has an astonishing ability to adapt and change. This ability is known as neuroplasticity. With the right stimulation, your brain can form new neural pathways, alter existing connections, and adapt and react in ever-changing ways. The brain's incredible ability to reshape itself holds true when it comes to learning and memory. You can harness the natural power of neuroplasticity to increase your cognitive abilities, enhance your ability to learn new information, and improve your memory. While there are commercial classes you can take to improve your memory, there are little changes you can make in your daily life that will have a big result on your ability to retain information. This book will show you ways to increase your power of recall! Just as an athlete relies on sleep and a nutrition-packed diet to perform his or her best, your ability to remember increases when you nurture your brain with a good diet and other healthy habits. When you're sleep deprived, your brain can't operate at full capacity. Creativity, problem-solving abilities, and critical thinking skills are compromised. Whether you're studying, working, or trying to juggle life's many demands, sleep deprivation is a recipe for disaster. But sleep is critical to learning and memory in an even more fundamental way.

Knowing Too Much

Summary

Traditionally, American Jews have been broadly liberal in their political outlook; indeed African-Americans are the only ethnic group more likely to vote Democratic in US elections. Over the past half century, however, attitudes on one topic have stood in sharp contrast to this group's generally progressive stance: support for Israel. Despite Israel's record of militarism, illegal settlements, and human rights violations, American Jews have, stretching back to the 1960s, remained largely steadfast supporters of the Jewish 'homeland'. But, as Norman Finkelstein explains in an elegantly-argued and richly-textured new book, this is now beginning to change. Reports by Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, and the United Nations, and books by commentators as prominent as President Jimmy Carter and as well-respected in the scholarly community as Stephen Walt, John Mearsheimer, and Peter Beinart, have increasingly pinpointed the fundamental illiberalism of the Israeli state. In the light of these exposes, the support of America Jews for Israel has begun to fray. This erosion has been particularly marked among younger members of the community. A 2010 Brandeis University poll found that only about one quarter of Jews aged under 40 today feel "very much" connected to Israel. In successive chapters that combine Finkelstein's customary meticulous research with polemical brio, Knowing Too Much sets the work of defenders of Israel such as Jeffrey Goldberg, Michael Oren, Dennis Ross, and Benny Morris against the historical record, showing their claims to be increasingly tendentious. As growing numbers of American Jews come to see the speciousness of the arguments behind such apologias and recognize Israel's record as simply indefensible, Finkelstein points to the opening of new possibilities for political advancement in a region that for decades has been stuck fast in a gridlock of injustice and suffering.

Egypt

Summary

This book is a sequel to Dr. Goldberg's Time Travelers from Our Future, and depicts the significance of Hermes, the very first time traveler, on both Egypt's development and our planet's heritage. According to Dr. Goldberg's case histories and research, Egypt developed from four sources: Lemuria (Mu), Atlantis, ETs, and time travelers. One of the most dramatic chapters deals with Hermes' role as Moses' advisor and rewrites the history of the Exodus by demonstrating that the original Jewish people were Egyptians! Archeological and historical evidence are presented to support this argument. Several self-hypnosis exercises are presented to guide the listener into their own past lives, out-of-body travel and training them to contact these time travelers.
