Narcissistic Abuse

Summary

Narcissistic personality disorder is surprisingly common, affecting up to six percent of the population. People with this disorder can seem charming and self-confident, but their excessive need for admiration from others masks deeper insecurity and self-loathing that drives them to manipulate and abuse the people who care about them. The following chapters will discuss the symptoms of narcissistic abuse, the strategies that narcissistic abusers use to manipulate their victims, the traumatic childhood experiences that cause this disorder, and the distorted thinking patterns typical of the narcissist. This book will also teach you about codependency, as well as why narcissists so often target codependent people. In addition, this book will teach you effective tips and strategies for dealing with narcissists, how to rebuild your self-esteem after narcissistic abuse, how to get out of an abusive relationship, how to deal with narcissistic victim syndrome and its long-term effects, how to heal the wounds from an abusive relationship, and how to avoid toxic relationships in the future. Just like the good-looking but heartless young man in the Greek myth, the narcissist is unbelievably charming but basically empty - in love with his own reflection. Like the nymph in the story, anyone unfortunate enough to love such a person risks fading away into a mere echo.  Unlike Narcissus, real narcissists don’t just reject their victims. All too often, the narcissist will go out of his way to make you emotionally dependent on him before systematically destroying your sense of self-esteem to ensure that you never abandon him. The narcissist’s abusive behavior can eventually leave you to be confused and filled with doubt to consider leaving the relationship. In effect, the narcissist reduces you to an echo of his own thoughts and needs - all the while remaining focused on his own image. Narcissistic abuse is profoundly damaging, with negative effects that can last for years. The children of narcissistic parents sometimes repeat the destructive pattern, either as victims or as abusers. Narcissists almost always blame others for their own actions, so it’s uncommon for a narcissist to seek professional help. Not all abusers are narcissistic, but abusive behaviors have certain characteristics in common, regardless of the abuser’s motivation. The key to protecting yourself from narcissistic abuse is to recognize what constitutes abusive behavior. Scroll up and click on the "buy now" button.

Borderline Personality Disorder

Summary

So many people wonder what borderline personality disorder is all about. Well, the truth is that this is a diagnosis that has been quite difficult for medical professionals to pinpoint or even understand. Because of the complexity of the disease, it has been difficult to successfully treat it.  However, there are new insights about the disorder that has contributed greatly to the new and even more effective treatment options. This is what has made the prognosis of BPD promising. In fact, when one gets the right support, they will learn how to regulate their overwhelming emotions, and stop their destructive behavior so that they can enjoy all that life has to offer. What is interesting is that when someone received a diagnosis of BPD a couple of decades ago, they felt as though they had been thrown in a dungeon of life imprisonment. The good news is that research has shown a possibility of people with BPD functioning better. In fact, so many people with this condition have been shown to cope with so well and eventually drop the diagnostic label. The other important change that is critical to note is that BPD is now easily diagnosed and treated in teenagers. It was only until recently that mental health professionals were able to embrace the diagnosis of this disorder in people under the age of 18 - even though the symptoms were prominent in adolescence or even earlier in their life. In fact, according to mental professionals, there is need to conduct early diagnosis for a better chance to treat and manage the disease in the long-term. This also greatly lowers the chance of the patient having suicidal behaviors. But what about the stigma that such people have in the society? Well, if you ask anyone with BPD, they will tell you that often, people refer to them as selfish, clingy and manipulative. The truth is, what most of us fail to realize is that people with BPD often go through extreme challenges daily and labelling them in this manner is unfair. If you have someone with BPD in your school, family, neighborhood, or any other place, one thing that is important is for you to offer them support. That is the least you can do. Think of them as people with a third-degree burn - over 90 percent of their bodies lacks emotional skin. They are constantly in agony at the slightest movement or touch. This is how you can start putting yourself in their shoes. When you do this, you will begin to realize that what they go through is quite unimaginable. What this means is that people with BPD lack the ability to regulate their emotions, thoughts and actions. The exact word you can use in a “Dysregulation disorder.” This is a name that is less stigmatizing. There are instances when they feel non-existent and not sure of their identity. For instance, they may feel as though they do not really know who they are as a person or even what they value or believe in. In this audiobook, you will learn more about: The world of the borderline disorder The borderline society Communicating with the borderline Taking back control of your life Bpd and successful treatment What is your bpd type? Addressing and changing negative behaviors and patterns of bpd Reconstructing your world and building a new you Maintain success on a personal level Using mindfulness to manage emotions The narcissists

Narcissism

Summary

Since it is a disorder and NPD is not normal, you may wonder why it exists in the first place. There is no exact cause for NPD that has been determined yet. There are various factors that contribute to it and may lead to the development of this disorder in any individual. It can be genetic or develop due to various experiences the individual has gone through. Psychological factors contribute to it in a major way. The causes of NPD are a complex matter, just like the causes of any other mental health disorders.  It is linked to:  The environment: usually, parent-child relationships that are not healthy.  Genetics: inherited characteristics. Abnormalities in genes can cause symptoms of NPD.  Neurobiology: link between the brain with a person's thought process and behavior. When there is an abnormality in this connection, then it can cause issues.  At a certain point, most psychologists assumed that the main cause of narcissism were parents who failed to provide their children with the right kind of love and attention. However, now they know that it is much more complex than that, and there are many other possible reasons for it.
