West Virginia, 1966. For thirteen months the town of Point Pleasant is gripped by a real-life nightmare that culminates in a tragedy that makes headlines around the world. Strange occurrences and sightings, including a bizarre winged apparition that becomes known as the Mothman, trouble this ordinary American community. Mysterious lights are seen moving across the sky. Domestic animals are found slaughtered and mutilated. And journalist John Keel, arriving to investigate the freakish events, soon finds himself an integral part of an eerie and unfathomable mystery. Translated into over thirteen languages, John Keel's unsettling account of what he encountered in Point Pleasant has long been regarded as a classic in the literature of the unexplained. It is now the basis of a major motion picture starring Richard Gere and Laura Linney. The Mothman Prophecies is also available in print from Tor Books.

John Keel's disturbing follow-up to The Mothman Prophecies! Is there a single intelligent force behind all religious, occult, and UFO phenomena? Strange manifestations have haunted humans since prehistoric times. Beams of light, voices from the heavens, the "little people", gods and devils, ghosts and monsters, and UFOs have all had a prominent place in our history and legends. In this dark work, John Keel explores these phenomena, and in doing so, reveals the shocking truth about our present position and future destiny in the cosmic scheme of things. Are we pawns in a celestial game? In the Orient, there is a story told of the seven towers. These citadels, well hidden from mankind, are occupied by groups of Satanists who are chanting the world to ruin. Perhaps this is just a story; perhaps there is some truth behind it. But what if there is yet another tower, a tower not of good or evil but of infinite power? What if all our destinies are controlled by this cosmic force for its own mysterious purposes? And what if UFOs and other paranormal manifestations are merely tools being used to manipulate us and guide us toward the cosmic role we are fated to play? Perhaps, after all, we are not independent beings but are instead the creations and slaves of the eighth tower.

The first book by the author of The Mothman Prophecies.
Someone, we know not who, once called Jadoo "the greatest book ever written on the black magic of the Orient." But we do not know if there will again be another book like it. Jadoo, a Hindi word meaning "black magic", captures a world that is now lost to us - the strange, dark, mysterious world that was once called the "Orient".
This story of a real-life Indiana Jones of the 1950s named John Keel contains everything but a trip to Venus in a flying saucer - a subject our newsman/explorer would become famous for a decade later. In Egypt, the fearless Keel was cursed by a mummy and befriended members of a strange snake-charming cult. In Iraq, he played Russian roulette with a notorious desert bandit and lived among the Yezidi devil-worshippers. Later, in India, he was buried alive and discovered the secret of the Indian rope trick, which he then performed for incredulous reporters in New Delhi. And in a riveting finale, he chased the Abominable Snowman through the little known Himalayan kingdom of Sikkim before being unceremoniously booted out of Singapore for being "an undesirable alien".
"One of the most traveled and imaginative raconteurs since Baron Munchausen." (San Francisco Examiner)
"Here is a fireside adventure with a chill in it." (Buffalo Evening News)
“A fabulous tour of Egypt, the Middle East, India, and Tibet." (Hartford Times)
"A combination of cliff-hanging experiences with serious probing for the bizarre, the secretive, and the enigmatic." (Kirkus)
Born on March 25, 1930, in Hornell, New York, John A. Keel was keenly interested in magic and writing from an early age. After serving in the US Army during the Korean War on the staff of the American Forces Network in Frankfurt, Germany, he worked as a foreign radio correspondent in Paris, Berlin, Rome, and Egypt. Then, in 1954, he gave up his day job and set off on a life of travel and adventure, attempting to support himself with his writing. The travels and encounters he relates in this book, which ranged from Egypt to Singapore, cover about one year. Using articles he had written for the men’s magazines, Keel strung together a manuscript, which he originally entitled Pattern for Adventure, while living in Barcelona. The book appeared as Jadoo from a New York publisher in 1957, and he promoted it by performing a snake-charming act in a pet store window in New York City. Keel kept on writing for newspapers and magazines, as well as radio and television outlets, and ended up publishing a dozen books in his lifetime. He popularized the term “men in black” and coined the term “ultraterrestrials” to describe UFO occupants. Keel’s best known work is The Mothman Prophecies, an account of his investigation into sightings in West Virginia of a huge, winged creature called the "Mothman".

Our skies are filled with Trojan horses.... “The real UFO story must encompass all of the many manifestations being observed. It is a story of ghosts and phantoms and strange mental aberrations; of an invisible world that surrounds us and occasionally engulfs us; of prophets and prophecies, and gods and demons. It is a world of illusion and hallucination where the unreal seems very real, and where reality itself is distorted by strange forces which can seemingly manipulate space, time, and physical matter - forces that are almost entirely beyond our powers of comprehension.” When this work was first published in 1970, it shredded the then-trendy nuts-and-bolts extraterrestrial hypothesis for UFOs in favor of one that linked UFOs to a variety of paranormal and supernatural phenomena that have taken place throughout history. Keel was one of the first to note that the UFO phenomenon appears in different disguises - and that one could not begin to decipher this great mystery without first taking into account its many and varied deliberate deceptions. Other than a few corrections, this Anomalist Books edition essentially follows the original 1970 edition of UFOs: Operation Trojan Horse. About the author: John A. Keel (March 25, 1930-July 3, 2009) was an American journalist and influential ufologist best known as the author of The Mothman Prophecies. In the 1950s, he spent time in Egypt, India, and the Himalayas investigating snake-charming cults, the Indian rope trick, and the legendary yeti, an adventure that culminated in the publication of his first book, Jadoo. In the mid-1960s, he took up investigating UFOs and assorted forteana and published his first knockout UFO book, UFOs: Operation Trojan Horse.

John A. Keel's Pursuing the Addenda: Supernatural Reports from the Natural World is an entertaining survey of anomalous "Fortean" events such as UFOs, "Fafrotskies" (things that fall from the sky), enigmatic monuments and relics, historical oddities, strange creatures, scientific mysteries, and psychic phenomena. Since the beginning of recorded time, mankind has been plagued by unknown forces and beings, which Keel brings into chilling focus. Here you will find authentic reports on a wide variety of subjects, some of which may shock or even frighten you. Are we being invaded from outer space? Are secret agencies tapping your phone, computer, and mail? Could an unseen, pre-human race be watching us from their secret hiding places, manipulating and misleading us for sheer entertainment? With sharp wit and unique insight, Keel provides explanations for the unusual things he recounts that have long left others baffled. In this mountain of way-out evidence, he sees a pattern and draws original, startling, and convincing conclusions. This special edition features an editor's note by zoologist Ivan T. Sanderson, Keel's mentor and editor of Pursuit Magazine - where most of these articles originally appeared.

This is the second edition, published in 2017, featuring an additional half-dozen chapters, thus completing the entire set of Keel articles in this series. It matches the new Kindle version that has also just been published (2017). Following years of surveillance and harassment from both human and supernatural spooks, intrepid Fortean investigator John A. Keel sat down to compile his thoughts on all he had learned during his 1960s research into UFOs, synchronicity, creature entities, and other unexplained phenomena. The result was a series of concise, thematically related "ancient astronaut" articles, which were published in Saga magazine between 1973 and 1976. In these papers, Keel pulls together many of the threads discussed in his classic books The Mothman Prophecies and The Eighth Tower, which were written at the same time. By looking at ancient lore and applying it to modern UFO cases, Keel reveals that while the "ancient alien" phenomenon is indeed very ancient, it is certainly not alien. Using a wide array of evidence, coming from several different angles, Keel deftly explains why the winged, birdlike "ancient aliens" are bent on controlling the human race and how they do it. Surprisingly, Keel's research into Mothman could play a key role in deciphering the mystery of ancient aliens - whether or not the human race was actually created, genetically, by giant birdmen mating with earth women, and whether or not there was once a worldwide religion that worshiped Mothman-like gods.

John Keel's Strange Creatures From Time and Space, originally published in 1970 with artwork by Frank Frazetta, is a comprehensive encyclopedia of monsters from around the world, including: Fantastic flying saucer occupants; True psychic phenomena; Phantom killers of people and livestock; The full story of West Virginia's man-bird, "Mothman"; The elusive "Bigfoot", Sasquatch, and Yeti; Giants of Minnesota and the Appalachians; Sea serpents and lake creatures; Vampires and werewolves; Angels and demons' The dangerous and enigmatic Men in Black (MIB). John A. Keel has been on the trail of weirdness for decades, investigating wild tales of alien abduction, hairy monsters, and mysterious entities that can terrify and even harm humans. He has become the top man in the field of the inexplicable. Keel actually has explanations for the unusual things he recounts - which have long left others baffled. In this mountain of way-out evidence, he sees a pattern and draws original, startling, and convincing conclusions. Keel was born in monster country - on a farm in Silver Lake, New York, home of one of America's native sea serpents. He began writing articles on UFOs in 1945, two years before the ufomania began. In 1952, he produced a Halloween broadcast from the Frankenstein Castle in Germany, and in 1954 he saw his first flying saucer while exploring the Upper Nile. For years, Keel wandered around Asia in search of the secrets of the occult. The last American to enter Tibet from the Indian side, Keel spent weeks tracking the Yeti. After having written many books and magazine articles, Keel remains an open-minded skeptic. There is no one better qualified to report on and interpret today's flood of "anti-rational" evidence than Keel.

Flying Saucer to the Center of Your Mind is a collection of magazine articles and lectures by the man many consider to be not only the 20th century’s premiere investigator of all things unusual and “Fortean,” but also our very own 20th-century “Mark Twain”: John A. Keel. Many of the articles in this anthology and its companion volumes, "The Outer Limits of the Twilight Zone" and "Searching for the String," were revolutionary, and explored ideas popularized in Keel’s classic books. Written in Keel’s engaging trademark style, they are sure to delight fans with their fresh, unparalleled insights into the nature of reality. John Keel displays the keen observational skills and investigative tenacity that made him the enfant terrible of ufology for decades. In this no-holds-barred analysis - much of it written almost 50 years ago - Keel shreds most of the sacred-cow beliefs still held by many in ufological and “cryptozoological” circles today, and presents theories so radical that they are only now becoming accepted: the “4-D” or “interdimensional” thesis; the “breakaway civilization” theory; the possible role of “ancient aliens” in human history; the synthetic and/or hallucinatory nature of many “alien abduction” and “Men in Black” encounters; the role of spy agencies in paranormal research; and the alarming connection between UFOs, animal mutilations, and attacks on unsuspecting humans. In short, Flying Saucer to the Center of Your Mind is witty, incisive, impassioned, and prescient, and cohesively brings Keel’s message into focus in a way that perhaps no other collection has. In addition, this 2013 edition features illuminating forewords by noted writers Gray Barker and Tessa B. Dick (widow of science-fiction writer Philip K. Dick), as well as an introduction by the editor, Andy Colvin (author of "The Mothman's Photographer" trilogy and "Mothman Speaks").

New Saucerian proudly presents John Keel's suppressed classic, The Invisible Diet, in which he shares "classified" health secrets rumored to have been developed by either the CIA or NSA, specifically for their agents in the field. In this program, Keel provides forbidden advice on how to: lose weight unnoticed; quit smoking; say goodbye to your dentist and doctor; improve cognitive ability and focus; grow spiritually; have more sex; and generally avoid surveillance. If you are wondering if this is yet another quack self-help book, you are wrong! The proof is in the pudding. No one can look at the life of John A. Keel and not see success. Raised poor on a rural farm in upstate New York, Keel arrived in New York City with less than a dollar in his pocket, yet rose to prominence and lived to be a ripe old age, freely enjoying the benefits of licensing his thought-provoking work to Hollywood. To many, Keel became a modern-day Mark Twain - a maverick who dared speak the uncomfortable truth. Nowhere is this cantankerousness more on display than in this special reprint, where, along with Dr. Ogden Pearl and editor Andy Colvin, Keel peels back the veil on both the health industry and our own subconscious desires. With his usual trademark wit, Keel entertainingly lays out the perfect formula for those ready to "go invisible" and reach renewed vitality.

During 1967 and 1968, when he was subject to nonstop surveillance and harassment from both human and supernatural spooks, intrepid Fortean investigator John A. Keel made extensive field notes concerning the phenomena he was confronting in West Virginia and New York: UFOs, Men in Black, creature entities, ultraterrestrials, and odd coincidences and synchronicities. The result was a series of concise, thematically related reports, many of which were incorporated into magazine articles for Saga, Fate, and Flying Saucer Review.
In these reports, Keel unravels threads discussed in his classic books Operation Trojan Horse, The Mothman Prophecies, and The Eighth Tower, which were written soon after. Utilizing occult lore, recent scientific research, and direct personal investigation, Keel draws back the curtain on the mind-blowing nature of our terrestrial reality.
By looking deeply into specific cases, Keel begins to understand that there are different types of UFOs, surmising that the “aliens” and their apparent buddies, the MIB, may emanate from a breakaway civilization bent on controlling the human race. Surprisingly, Keel's research into Mothman could play a key role in deciphering the mystery of “Ancient Aliens” - whether or not the human race was actually created, genetically, by giant birdmen mating with Earth women.
This special edition - the follow-up to Keel's popular book The Big Breakthrough: Confronting UFOs, Men in Black, Mothman, and Mysterious Humanoids - features a "confidential" introduction by Keel, as well as interesting correspondence between Keel and other notables in the Mothman saga, such as Mary Hyre, Jim Moseley, Mabel McDaniel, and Jerome Clark. In particular, there is an extensive exchange of letters between Keel and that infamous mystery man from outer space, “Apol".

New Saucerian Press proudly presents John Keel’s The Book of Mothman: Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Reality Distortion but Were Afraid to Ask.
The chapters in this Keel-approved collection, culled from New Saucerian’s four recently published Selected Writings of John Keel books (Flying Saucer to the Center of Your Mind, The Outer Limits of the Twilight Zone, Searching for the String, and The Great Phonograph in the Sky) coalesce to create a dazzling, mind-blowing “unified theory” concerning the paraphysical distortions and “glitches” seemingly invading our reality.
Many of the articles in The Book of Mothman were written years before Keel’s Mothman Prophecies, while others were written years afterwards, making it a very unique and valuable source. With the addition of several 1990s lectures and an interview from 2003 - Keel’s last on Mothman - researchers and enthusiasts gain a better sense of just what was going on in West Virginia and the Ohio Valley in the 1960s and ‘70s.
True to form, Keel takes on the endless variety of high strangeness surrounding Mothman and Mothman witnesses, such as UFOs, MIBs, little green men, hairy monsters, giants, animal mutilations, hypnotism, shape-shifting, psychological warfare, missing time, and phantom aircraft, automobiles, and humans.
This special edition features a brilliant introduction by Gray Barker, a recently discovered foreword by John Keel, and a note from the editor, Andy Colvin.

No matter where you live, you may be under the close scrutiny of mysterious entities that appear in many guises and create all of man's myths and beliefs. Charles Fort, a writer in the 1920s, concluded that the Earth was "owned" by someone or something. Ivan Sanderson, a famed biologist in the 1960s, said that this planet was a "farm" and that we were the crop. Millions of people around the world have had startling encounters with the "tricksters", such as the Men in Black (MIB), fairies and elves, snallygasters, Mothmen, aliens and "spacemen", and hairy, abominable creatures that all seem to vanish into thin air. With sharp wit and unique insight, John A. Keel has spent a lifetime investigating and studying these age-old mysterious and the peculiar forces behind them. Many of the reports in Disneyland of the Gods were written originally for Saga Magazine over 40 years ago, but are as fresh today as they were then. You will find authentic reports on a wide variety of subject matter, and the conclusions Keel draws may shock and frighten you. Are we being invaded from outer space? Are secret government agencies tapping your phone, computer, and mail? Does someone really own the Earth and use it as their own "Disneyland of the Gods?" You'd better find out before your phone goes berserk, your best friend becomes possessed by Bigfoot, and your loved ones vanish, screaming into the darkness....
