Stoicism

Summary

Are you currently facing a tough problem in life or at work? I have completely no idea who you are and what you do, but I am sure of something about you. You have obstacles, challenges, and pain in your life. After all, we’re all humans, aren’t we? If we all experience all these negative emotions and events, what’s the point of life, then? What’s the meaning of life? Stoicism is a philosophical school formed in around 300 BC. Today, the lessons are passed on by three main principal leaders, who are Marcus Aurelius, Seneca, and Epictetus. Modern-day practitioners of stoicism can vouch for the calmness and joy that a person who practices stoicism can have. Stoicism is not a cult; it’s not a religion. It’s a way of life, and it’s about living a life of ethics and principles. This short book is not your A-Z guide to stoicism. It’s merely the door that opens your world up to the teachings and lessons of stoicism. If you ever feel like something small could bother you for a long period of time, maybe, stoicism can help you out. If you ever feel like being in a rut (especially recently) and can’t seem to find a way out of the mess, maybe stoicism can help you out. This short book is a practical guide. You’ll find 11 practical wisdom that is not only easy to implement but infinitely powerful if you apply them in your daily life. Each practical wisdom is accompanied by an action step for you to have no excuses but to embrace stoicism into your life.

Manipulation Techniques

Summary

Manipulation starts with understanding someone’s personality. If you are interested in this important life process, then you should listen to this book. Manipulation can simply mean instilling fear. While manipulation might be easier, it is going to cause a lot of more difficult things in the end that you will have to clean up afterwards! There are common types of manipulators out there and you might be able to sense this personality trait in another person right away. Similarly, you will also recognize that there are hidden qualities that won’t always emerge at first. Not all manipulative behaviors presented by an individual indicates that she is a malicious person. Having manipulative parents or long-term partners can rub off on our behavior, so we might sometimes say and do things that aren’t meant to be manipulative but can come off that way. Always look at intention when determining if someone is really being manipulative or not.    Body language can play a huge role in how someone will be perceived. You can start to see persuasive body language in others more often than you did before as soon as you become aware of what this kind of body language looks like. Ensure you are aware of your own body language as well so as not to be manipulated by others.    This book reveals that manipulation is generally a way for a person to get the things that they desire most. We all have basic human needs and instincts that drive our behavior. If we are not careful with how we go about getting these things, we can hurt others. The more equipped we are with the skills needed for positive influence, the easier it will be to achieve our deepest desires in a healthy way that benefits many.    To continue to grow your level of influence, remember that it starts with small moments of persuasion. Don’t tell people what to do - encourage them from personal experience and stories learned from others. Don’t try and trick someone into doing the things they don’t want to do. Be honest with reward and consequence so that they can properly make the decision for themselves.    While it might be hard to do the right thing in times where what is easiest will also benefit you the most, remember to be empathetic towards others. Though it might be challenging, you will still ultimately get the things you desire most when you are doing so in a fair and rewarding way.  This book gives a comprehensive guide on the following: What is manipulation and how does it work? Historical background Manipulation and the question of morality Managing situations and emotions Emotional manipulation How to modify your behavior Difference between manipulation and persuasion Mind control Victims of manipulation Common traits of a manipulator How to manipulate people
