Notes from the author: The following is a short story I wrote in the Elantris world back in January of 2006. At that point, Elantris had been out in stores for only about seven or eight months, but I actually hadn’t written anything new on the story or world since 2000, when I’d finished the first draft of the original book. There were always a few holes in the manuscript where I decided not to include viewpoints or sections of explanation in the name of streamlining, particularly at the end. In the back of my mind, I knew what happened. This story talks about one of those holes; it is meant to be heard after you’ve finished the novel and takes place during the events of the climax. In the annotation, I’ve written a further explanation of why I wrote this piece. Some of you may find it interesting to hear this ahead of time; I put it in the annotation, however, as I know others would rather enjoy the story without bias beforehand, then hear my thoughts afterward. Either way, if you haven’t listened to Elantris, this contains major spoilers. Might I suggest listening to the book first? This story won’t work at all for you if you haven’t. Performed by Colleen Delany, Kimberly Gilbert, Mort Shelby, James Lewis, Richard Rohan, Michael John Casey, Danny Gavigan, Tracy Olivera, Eric Messner, Nanette Savard, Chris Davenport, Evan Casey, Scott McCormick, Ken Jackson, Timothy Lynch, Thomas Penny, Rose Elizabeth Supan.

Necromancer is such an ugly word, but it's a title Eric Carter is stuck with. He sees ghosts, talks to the dead. He's turned it into a lucrative career, putting troublesome spirits to rest, sometimes taking on even more dangerous things. For a fee, of course. When he left LA 15 years ago, he thought he'd never go back. Too many bad memories. Too many people trying to kill him. But now his sister's been brutally murdered and Carter wants to find out why. Was it the gangster looking to settle a score? The ghost of a mage he killed the night he left town? Maybe it's the patron saint of violent death herself, Santa Muerte, who's taken an unusually keen interest in him. Carter's going to find out who did it, and he's going to make them pay. As long as they don't kill him first. Performed by Michael John Casey, Eva Wilhelm, Jacob Yeh, Tia Shearer, Terence Aselford, Jefferson A Russell, Gabriela Fernandez-Coffey, James Lewis, Michael Glenn, James Konicek, Rose Elizabeth Supan, Nick DePinto, Rebecca Sheir, Jonathon Church, Thomas Keegan, Bradley Smith, Matthew Bassett, Ken Jackson, Dawn Ursula.

In a remote part of Ireland, two archaeological teams dig for the find of a lifetime — the legendary Spear of Lugh. Folklore claims the magical weapon was forged in the time of the ancient Tuatha de Danaan. But as the search intensifies, people begin disappearing from the dig. "Faeries," whisper the locals. The Other Crowd.... Instructed to travel to Ireland and return with faerie footage, archaeologist Annja Creed figures it's a joke assignment. But people have vanished and she soon realizes there's more in play than mythical wee folk. With the unsettling notion that something otherworldly is in the air, Annja is torn between her roles as an archaeologist and a warrior. Young Matt Bodine and Sam Two Wolves became blood brothers on the day the rancher's son saved the half breed's life, forging a bond no one could ever break. As years passed, a legend grew of the half breed and the white man who rode together — and when the situation demands, kill together. In Arizona Territory, you can't keep trouble from coming, but when it does, you don't have to offer it a chair. And trouble always comes. When Matt and Sam are ambushed by a violent gang led by the scurrilous Zack Jardine, who has his own reasons for wanting the blood brothers dead, Matt is badly wounded. After leaving Matt in a Navajo village to get patched up, Sam rides off hot on the trail of the Jardine Gang. Sam finds the cutthroats selling guns to the Indians, a move that will likely explode into an all-out tribal war. Outnumbered and outgunned, the blood brothers aim to settle Zack Jardine's hash once and for all — with a little luck, a lot of bullets and the courage to shoot true. A wrecked German bomber...key to the secrets of the Third Reich? All it took was one phone call and TV show host and archaeologist Annja Creed is in mortal danger. Her producer Doug Morrell has been abducted by a greedy treasure hunter who's seeking the lost raubgold, or looted gold of Nazi Germany. The terms are simple: retrieve the bounty and Doug lives. Fail, and he dies.... Now Annja and her friends must find a missing German fighter plane that was shot down over the Alps in 1945. According to legend, the aircraft not only holds a shipment of gold the Nazis had stolen, but also carried the last letters of the führer himself. Letters that point to a more startling treasure buried underwater halfway around the world. But Annja isn't interested in treasure, or even unearthing historic relics. Annja has one agenda: get Doug out alive...even if it means drawing her sword from its otherworldly sheath. Even if it means death. Because once greed drives a man to violence, nothing will stop him.... Performed by Nanette Savard, Colleen Delany, Jonathan Feuer, Terence Aselford, Bradley Smith, Eric Messner, Scott McCormick, Andy Clemence, James Lewis, Ken Jackson, Dylan Lynch, Michael John Casey, Lily Beacon.

War for sole ownership of blood-soaked Angola has begun, but now the ruthless shadow hand is a cabal of former CIA-DOD top operatives calling themselves Phoenix Consortium. Backed by millions in stolen black funds, the goal is a new world order, gained by control of the world's oil and diamond monopolies. It's a despotic vision that requires partnerships in the right places: the North Koreans willing to trade suitcase nukes for a piece of the new world order; Arab fanatics willing to buy into any kind of war that guarantees spilled American blood; and an army of former special ops mercs with no loyalties. It's an agenda of human savagery at its worst, unleashed by traitors to the country they pledged to serve. And it deserves nothing less than justice at the hands of Mack Bolan. Performed by Terence Aselford, David Coyne, Richard Rohan, Thomas Penny, Andy Clemence, James Konicek, Elliott Dash, Michael John Casey, Dylan Lynch, Ken Jackson, James Lewis, Michael Glenn, Eric Messner, Christopher Graybill, Mort Shelby.
