Now, the rediscovery of long-forgotten combat wards has given them the magic they need to fight back. In Tibbet’s Brook, the fighting wards have brought change, but the factions and grudges of a troubled past remain. Selia Square, the woman they call Barren, has long been the force that holds the Brook together. As a terrifying new threat emerges, she rallies her people once again. But Selia has a past of her own. And in a small community the personal and the political can never be divided. Federation and Earth is book two in the Federation Trilogy. Listening to Federation first is absolutely essential. After the dramatic and unexpected turn of events at the end of the first book, planet Earth is left with several factions trying to resolve the situation. The new president of the USA is trying to secure his hold on power, while a new group - who have named themselves Free America - is taking steps to overthrow what it considers an illegitimate regime. Elsewhere, the new secretary general of the United Nations is working with the smaller Security Council to try to bring the rest of the world together after the events at the end of the book one. Can the aliens be convinced to provide help, or are they just going to watch from orbit? Note: You won't enjoy this story unless you are open to political concepts which could never work on Earth as it is before the trilogy begins, i.e. now. If you like speculative fiction, open your mind and enjoy the adventure. This book is like Marmite (look it up). You will either love it or hate it!

The editors of The Jewish Annotated New Testament show how and why Jews and Christians study many of the same Biblical texts - including passages from the Pentateuch, the Prophets, and the Psalms - differently. Exploring and explaining these diverse perspectives, they reveal more clearly Scripture’s beauty and power. Esteemed Bible scholars and teachers Amy-Jill Levine and Marc Z. Brettler take listeners on a guided tour of the most popular Hebrew Bible passages quoted in the New Testament to show what the texts meant in their original contexts and then how Jews and Christians, over time, understood those same texts. Passages include the creation of the world, the role of Adam and Eve, the Suffering Servant of Isiah, the book of Jonah, and Psalm 22, whose words, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me”, Jesus quotes as he dies on the cross. Comparing various interpretations - historical, literary, and theological - of each ancient text, Levine and Brettler offer deeper understandings of the original narratives and their many afterlives. They show how the text speaks to different generations under changed circumstances and so illuminate the Bible’s ongoing significance. By understanding the depth and variety by which these passages have been, and can be, understood, The Bible With and Without Jesus does more than enhance our religious understandings, it helps us to see the Bible as a source of inspiration for any and all listeners. Supplemental enhancement PDF accompanies the audiobook. PLEASE NOTE: When you purchase this title, the accompanying PDF will be available in your Audible Library along with the audio.

Federation - political, near-future science fiction for the listeners who enjoys imagining how the world would react to alien contact. Author's Note: "This novel has attracted some strange and unexpected reactions - science fiction readers are usually open-minded individuals, but some seem to have trouble understanding that this is a story - fiction. In a few reviews, Federation has been castigated by narrow-minded individuals who think it is some sort of socialist or communist manifesto. Surely, that would be like accusing George Orwell of promoting totalitarianism because he wrote 1984! If you are open-minded, you will love this for being what it is - a science fiction 'what-if' trilogy, not a political treatise. Please don't buy it if you find social justice offensive." Federation takes close encounters to a whole new level. A galactic empire of a quarter of a million worlds stumbles across the earth. When they ask, "take me to your leader", the world is thrown into panic. We have no world leader, only many who might like to be. With elements of a political thriller, there is an intriguing storyline which addresses the environmental and myriad social problems faced by the world today. The aliens’ philosophy on life is totally unexpected. With the help of intelligent automatons, they've turned what many on earth believe to be a reviled political system into a utopia for the masses, but are they a force for good or evil, and will the wealthy make the compromises needed for a successful outcome? The story is told by a Daragnen University Graduate, Rummy Breganin. He discovers that earth failed in its attempt to join the federation, and, for some unknown reason, members are forever banned from visiting or contacting the planet. Rummy had never heard of a whole world being outlawed. Perhaps it would be sensible to leave well enough alone but no, he decides to investigate. Submerge yourself in humankind’s cultural and economic dilemma. Get Federation today.

Warning: It is essential to listen to the trilogy in the correct order – Federation; Federation & Earth; and finally Hidden Federation. Alien university professor and author, Yol Rummy Blin Breganin, continues his research on the planet Earth. He introduces, into this final volume, some stories from the distant past of the Federation, which provide a greater insight into the vast alien empire. In the only free and independent part of the planet Earth – the United States of America – the populace is becoming increasingly dissatisfied with the growing authoritarianism. With California in revolt, can the USA retain its own independence in this rebellious climate? Elsewhere on Earth, in the Federation territories, is life becoming too comfortable for the ordinary humans? Will the world be allowed to settle down to its life of luxury or will it turn the new utopia into hell as it has always done in the past? The final part of the Federation Trilogy contains the answers.

With a thriving parahuman accounting practice, a steady relationship, and a circle of trusted friends, Fred’s undead life has become more enjoyable than his normal one ever was. Unfortunately, it also seems that he’s no longer the only vampire to appreciate the up-and-coming city of Winslow, Colorado. A new clan of vampires is moving in, and they aren’t well known for tolerating outsiders in their territory. Now, Fred must cope with the growing presence - and threat - of other vampires even as he struggles to keep up with his business’s demands and make time for his friends. Between hidden parahuman towns, crazed vampire hunters, quarreling mages, and the world’s least subtle spy, it will take all of Fred’s wiles just to keep his head above water. And as the new clan sinks their fangs deeper and deeper into his city, the undead accountant is faced with a choice between two equally unappealing options: flee his home, or stand against an entire clan of fellow vampires. Performed by Christopher Walker, Nora Achrati, Marni Penning, Yasmin Tuazon, Shanta Parasuraman, Steven Carpenter, Carolyn Kashner, Christopher Graybill, Anthony Palmini, Laura C Harris, Danny Gavigan, Matthew Bassett, Scott McCormick, Alejandro Ruiz, Bradley Smith, Colleen Delany, Holly Adams, Michael John Casey, Terence Aselford, and Zeke Alton.
