Dream Catcher

Summary

In the years leading up to the 1950s, there were no resources for the challenged. They were placed in asylums or back rooms and left to die. They were never talked about or acknowledged. They were the silent children. The ones no one wanted. The ones who were never given a chance to live. Yvonne Mason has given us a story of success in a time of failure for the challenged. She has given a voice to a child born in 1952 who became challenged. This young man was not put away. He was not shunned and he was not ignored. Ms. Mason tells the story of Stan, her brother, who was never supposed to succeed. He was supposed to fail.

The Mad Hatter

Summary

The year is 1888. The Place is the East End of London. Dead and mutilated bodies are popping up all over the east end from Stamford to Whitechapel.  Jack the Ripper is making his mark in the East End in ways that puts the city on edge, so to speak. Johnathon Rhoades has been exposed to mercury since he was a boy of sixteen working in his father’s hat factory, which he now owns due to his father’s unexpected death. The hats that are created at the factory are in such demand that he almost cannot keep up with the orders.  Young Elizabeth, who happens to be in the employ of Johnathon Rhoades manages the storefront on Whitechapel road.  As the body count climbs and all of the East End is quaking in their shoes, the hat factory is booming. Everyone who is anyone wants a creation from the Rhoades Hat Factory including Sam Flanghan, the local coroner. Who is the Ripper? Why are these hats so much in demand? Is the Hatter really mad?

When Fates Collide

Summary

Beginning with When Fates Collide and followed by Mardi Gras Bound, the writing team of Yvonne Mason and Andrea Dean Van Scoyoc partnered with Brook Forest Voices to publish the entire Morgan and Herrington series as audiobooks. The Morgan and Herrington series revolves around a cynical, sarcastic female bounty hunter named Alex Morgan and Hope Harrington, a downtrodden, mousy secretary, who meet when Alex mistakes Hope for the "jumper" she's in hot pursuit of and slaps the cuffs on. After this zany encounter, the two collude, with the result being one of the most tongue-in-cheek and hilarious mysteries written. The collaboration of Yvonne and Andrea is just as unlikely. While they are kindred spirits, they reside on opposite coasts in Florida. Consequently, they've chosen to write from the first-person perspective, allowing each to lend her unique personality to the characters.
