Hydroponics for Beginners

Summary

Would you like to grow your fruit and vegetables but don't have a large and sunny garden? Are you sick and tired of spending hours going to the supermarket to buy chemically treated and genetically modified produce and would like to learn how to set up your own organic garden? Are you looking for a guide that will show you how to grow your plants with exclusive techniques? No problems! If you answered "yes"to any of these questions, then keep reading because this is the guide you were looking for! There are many ways in which plants are grown hydroponically; in some methods, the plant can be placed erect in a plastic trough, and then the nutrients are placed into the solution in trickles through the root. This process is called the nutrient film technique; this nutrient is more like a conveyor belt because it continually goes past the root hence giving to them all the nutrients they need.  Also, you can grow the plant with a system to support the roots. This can be either Rockwool, vermiculite, or sand; these systems will usually act as a sterile option for soil. Aeroponics is explained as the case where the roots are suspended inside the container that is filled with humid air. This way, the roots are growing in an abundant aerosol that is clouded with minerals. You can grow virtually any plant in the water culture, but then some plants will do better than some other plants; plants such as lettuce, herbs, and tomatoes would do well when planted in a hydroponic system.  Plants mainly grow with the help of a process called photosynthesis. They use sunlight and chlorophyll to convert water and carbon dioxide into oxygen and glucose. There's no implicit or explicit mention of soil anywhere in the process, and therefore, it could be concluded that plants only need nutrients and water to survive. Water and nutrients can easily be obtained from soil or any other source or medium.  Hydroponics is a process by which plants are grown without using any soil. The procedure involves the use of a water solvent along with a mineral nutrient solution, which aids in the efficient intake of various nutrients by the plant. This whole process is a subset of hydroculture. This book includes: What hydroponics is and its history THe advantages and disadvantages of hydroponics Best tips on how to start your journey with hydroponics How to choose plants for your hydroponic garden Proven life hacks on how to grow great plants! Solutions to common hydroponics problems! And much more.... Hydroponics has not only emerged to be a boon for human beings but also for the environment. It's a boon for the environment in the sense that it doesn't promote the use of any pesticides or harmful chemicals that can affect or contaminate environmental surroundings. Hydroponics is the only way you'll have the ability to grow economically sustainable organic food.

Hydroponics DIY: A Beginners Guide to Set Up and Maintain a Sustainable Organic Hydroponic-System

Summary

Are you looking for a complete guide to build, manage, and maintain a hydroponics system? Then keep reading. Hydroponics is the art of growing plants without using soil. The equipment generally consists of a reservoir that contains nutrients and a device that carries this nutrient solution to the plants.   Hydroponics is popular because it has several unique advantages for the gardener. First and foremost, it saves money by allowing the gardener to recycle any water that is used. The nutrients are absorbed more effectively and controlled entirely by the gardener; the fertilizer cost is vastly reduced. Besides, the yields of plants grown in hydroponics are stable and generally relatively high.  Perhaps the best advantage of hydroponics is the fact that it can be grown indoors. So, even in the middle of winter, you can grow plants that are healthy and strong.  In hydroponic gardens, plants have a 30 to 50 percent faster growth rate and higher food production than soil gardens. Hydroponics also has minimal issues with disease, pests, and bugs.   This audiobook key points are:  The basics of hydroponics Build your own hydroponic system How to maintain a hydroponic system Maintenance of your garden How to choose the right hydroponic system Types of hydroponic systems The layout of a hydroponic structure Planting in containers Hydroponics nutrient guide Hydroponic pest and diseases Hacks and troubleshooting  If you want to start on the right foot from the beginning, Hydroponics DIY is what you are looking for! Twelve by Twelve

Summary

Why would a successful American physician choose to live in a twelve-foot-by-twelve-foot cabin without running water or electricity? To find out, writer and activist William Powers visited Dr. Jackie Benton in rural North Carolina. No Name Creek gurgled through Benton’s permaculture farm, and she stroked honeybees’ wings as she shared her wildcrafter philosophy of living on a planet in crisis. Powers, just back from a decade of international aid work, then accepted Benton’s offer to stay at the cabin for a season while she traveled. There, he befriended her eclectic neighbors - organic farmers, biofuel brewers, eco-developers - and discovered a sustainable but imperiled way of life.

Here, Powers not only explores this small patch of community but draws on his international experiences with other pockets of resistance. This engrossing tale of Powers’s struggle for a meaningful life with a smaller footprint proposes a paradigm shift to an elusive “Soft World” with clues to personal happiness and global healing.

Intermittent Diet

Summary

Do you want to lose weight while still enjoying your favorite foods? Are you tired of counting calories and adapting to weekly pre-packaged menus? Are you simply intrigued by how to make feasible today the “little and occasionally" eating that guaranteed the health of our ancestors? Do you know that the problem might not be what you are eating, but rather when you are eating it?   After you've tried every conventional diet out there to find yourself fatter than before, it's time to enjoy the only diet with no yo-yo effect. After you have listened to all the gurus and scientists who have explained everything to you, it is time to be guided by those who have been practicing this diet for the past three years and without interruption.   Finally a simple and effective diet, practiced by our ancestors and by the whole animal world. Scientists and marketing people immediately thought of making it more commercial with different names (OMAD, One Meal A Day, 16:8, 14:10, 5:2, fast mimicking diet, eat-stop-eat…), but this book puts back together the pieces of the puzzle explaining what is really important and giving you the indications to practice it successfully.   By listening to this book, you will learn: how to motivate yourself to eat only once a day; how to start fasting safely and effectively; how not to suffer from hunger and thirst; the physiological principles underlying this diet; what you should eat in your daily meal; benefits and advantages of the OMAD diet; the myths to debunk; how to correct the most common mistakes.   An essential and useful text, written by a food expert who has been practicing intermittent fasting for three years now and that decided to eat this way forever and wrote this book with the enthusiasm of those who want to share an important discovery.   Take control of your eating habits and improve the way you look and feel. This is a motivational book, because you need to be motivated to succeed in the long term.
