Summary

The day is like any other day until it becomes The Day. At 4:05 pm the United States is attacked with an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) weapon. A 20-megaton nuclear warhead is detonated high in the atmosphere above Kansas, blanketing most of the contiguous United States and parts of Canada and Mexico with an electromagnetic pulse that damages nearly all microprocessors and electronic controls beyond repair. Nearly every system that depends on computers and electronics has ceased to work. The electrical grid goes down. The water system goes down. The sewer system goes down. The phone system goes down. The cellular system goes down. Cars stop. Tractors stop. Radio and TV stations go dark. The Internet is no more. No more ambulance services. No more emergency services. No more government services. No more 911. In the twinkle of an eye, America is sent back deep into the 19th century. Jill Barnes, a single mom, finds herself stranded on the side of Interstate 459 near Birmingham, Alabama. Jack Chance, a bank vice president, is stranded on Interstate 85 near Montgomery, Alabama. John Carter, a contractor, finds himself stranded near Leeds, Alabama. Each has a different mind-set and level of preparedness. Follow them as they make their decisions and journey home to Clarke County in rural Southwest Alabama. Author's note: This is a new performance of the revised version of book one. It has been revised to reflect a first-person point of view for each chapter's main character. Take note of which character leads in the chapter title. This is not a book on religion or religious ideology; however, two of the main characters are Christian. They pray often and acknowledge God's influence upon the events taking place. If you find praying, acknowledging God, or seeing Jesus' name used in a positive context offensive, then I suggest you do not listen to this book.

Summary

Should you spend 14 hours reading or listening to the whole book? Did you already go through it, and did you forget the key ideas? Executive Reads to the rescue! In Crossing the Chasm, Geoffrey A. Moore popularized the technology adoption life cycle, known elsewhere as the product adoption curve or innovation adoption curve. Contained in this useful model are terms you've heard but may not truly understand: innovators, early adopters, early majority, late majority, and laggards. Between the early market segments (innovators and early adopters) and the mainstream market segments (early and late majorities) lies the chasm. Crossing the Chasm explains the perils of navigating the technology adoption life cycle and introducing a new high-tech product. It's as useful today as it was when it was originally written. Whether you seek to save time in understanding this seminal work, want to see if you should get the full-length book, or want to refresh your memory of what it said, Executive Reads provides you with a clear and concise summary.

Werewolf Origin

Summary

Werewolf Origin was inspired by the 1941 movie, The Wolf Man. This classic film starred Lon Chaney, Jr. A clan of gypsies comes into a village in Wales. Lon Chaney is bitten by a werewolf in his attempt to save a girl. The girl dies, but he did kill the monster, who was Bela, a gypsy fortuneteller. Unfortunately for Lon, he becomes a werewolf, and so begins the genre. What is not revealed is how Bela first became a wolf man; this book is a prequel to the movie and reveals this mystery. More than that, this novella is about love, friendship, and determination. There is a strong independent woman, Larene who works with the young dedicated physician, Dr. Paul Thomas. Together as a team, aided by their friends, they experience something incredible. Written by Dr. Alex Cullison, an author who brings imagination, adventure, romance, fear, and sensitivity to this story. Werewolf Origin was written to provide entertainment to a wide range of listeners, both young and old.

Salvation of the Soul

Summary

How standing before Christ can be our most glorious moment The topic of the Judgment Seat of Christ is often neglected by today’s church. "For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad." (2 Corinthians 5:10) The salvation of the soul is probably one of the most misunderstood concepts in the church today. Most people think that the salvation of the spirit and the salvation of the soul are the same thing, even though the Scriptures tell us something different. The salvation of a person’s spirit is very simple. Acts 16:30-31 tells us: "30) 'Sirs, what must I do to be saved?' 31) So they said, 'Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.'" The salvation of the spirit is based on the finished work of our savior Jesus Christ at Calvary - the spirit is saved simply by believing on the Lord Jesus Christ. While the spirit is saved by faith in Christ, the soul is being saved based upon the faithfulness of the believer. The salvation of the soul is dependent on the life that we live after our spirit is saved. If we allow the Holy Spirit to control our life, we can realize the salvation of our soul, which will ultimately be determined at the Judgment Seat of Christ. When Jesus returns, he will review all of our lives to determine whether we have been faithful and obedient doers of his word. Learn about: Difference between the salvation of spirit and soul What Jesus meant by "take up your cross" How the word of God can save our souls When the salvation of our soul takes place How to prepare for the Judgment Seat of Christ The purpose of this audiobook is to help believers examine their lives and assist them in becoming faithful overcomers who will be qualified to rule and reign with Christ in the coming kingdom. After we have experienced the salvation of our spirit, it is imperative that we allow the word of God to sanctify us completely in order to realize the salvation of our soul. "Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ." (1 Thessalonians 5:23) This audiobook will prepare you so that you will be able to hear Christ say: "Well done, good and faithful servant.... Enter into the joy of your lord" (Matthew 25:21).
