How to rewire your brain to improve virtually every aspect of your life - based on the latest research in neuroscience and psychology on neuroplasticity and evidence-based practices. Not long ago, it was thought that the brain you were born with was the brain you would die with, and that the brain cells you had at birth were the most you would ever possess. Your brain was thought to be hardwired to function in predetermined ways. It turns out that's not true. Your brain is not hardwired; it's "softwired" by experience. This book shows you how you can rewire parts of the brain to feel more positive about your life, remain calm during stressful times, and improve your social relationships. Written by a leader in the field of Brain-Based Therapy, it teaches you how to activate the parts of your brain that have been underactivated and calm down those areas that have been hyperactivated, so that you feel positive about your life and remain calm during stressful times. You will also learn to improve your memory, boost your mood, have better relationships, and get a good night's sleep. Rewire Your Brain reveals how cutting-edge developments in neuroscience and evidence-based practices can be used to improve your everyday life. Explaining exciting new developments in neuroscience and their applications to daily living, this audiobook will guide you through the process of changing your brain so you can change your life and be free of self-imposed limitations. Dr. Arden is a leader in integrating the new developments in neuroscience with psychotherapy and director of training in mental health for Kaiser Permanente for the Northern California Region. Other titles by Dr. Arden include Brain-Based Therapy - Adult, Brain-Based Therapy - Child, Improving Your Memory for Dummies and Heal Your Anxiety Workbook.

Few books have captured the haunting world of music and rivers and of the sport they provide as well as A River Never Sleeps. Roderick L. Haig-Brown writes of fishing not just as a sport, but also as an art. He knows moving water and the life within it - its subtlest mysteries and perpetual delights. He is a man who knows fish lore as few people ever will, and the legends and history of a great sport. Month by month, he takes you from river to river, down at last to the saltwater and the sea: in January, searching for the steelhead in the dark, cold water; in May, fishing for bright, sea-run cutthroats; and on to the chilly days of October and the majestic run of spawning salmon. All the great joy of angling is here: the thrill of fishing during a thunderstorm, the sight of a river in freshet or a river calm and hushed, the suspense of a skillful campaign to capture some half-glimpsed trout or salmon of extraordinary size, and the excitement of playing and landing a momentous fish. A River Never Sleeps is one of the enduring classics of angling. It will provide a rich listening experience for all who love fishing or rivers.

Book two the Prepper Reconstruction series. The characters from the classic Prepper Trilogy have moved from their survival retreat on the lake and have taken up city living in one of the FEMA reconstruction towns. The government is attempting to jump start the economy once more after a solar storm took down the grid and the economy 10 long years ago. Politics and a religious cult leader who is a decedent of a Kudzu salesman threaten to upset the survivor's plans to restart their lives as the stresses of rejoining civilization mount. This audiobook contains several recipes and uses for Kudzu that help the community contend with the calamity. Perhaps no other part of the natural environment is more closely identified with the South than this invasive and fast growing vine and evidence of everything that is wrong with big government.

These true Christian testimonies and doctrines are each presented in short chapters. They are, in many cases, summations of biblical teaching without the unnecessary filler information. A wide range of subjects are covered, and you'll hear about some subjects that are not often addressed in churches. Some of the questions answered by the book's chapters include: "Where did Satan and his kingdom of devils come from?", "Do miracles still happen today?", "Was there a 'Genesis Gap' (unrecorded time periods)?", and "Are there degrees of punishment in hell?" There are also true stories of supernatural occurrences of both evil and godly origins. It is my hope and intention that listeners come away from the book with stronger faith, including greater trust in God.

In Lincoln's Bodyguard, an alternative version of American history, President Lincoln is saved from assassination. Though he prophesied his own death - the only way he believed the South would truly surrender - Lincoln never accounted for the heroics of his bodyguard, Joseph Foster. A biracial mix of white and Miami Indian, Joseph makes an enemy of the South by killing John Wilkes Booth and preventing the death of the president. His wife is murdered and his daughter kidnapped, sending Joseph on a revenge-fueled rampage to recover his daughter. When his search fails, he disappears as the nation falls into a simmering insurgency instead of an end to the War. Years later, Joseph is still running from his past when he receives a letter from Lincoln pleading for help. The President has a secret mission. Pursued from the outset, Joseph turns to the only person who might help, the woman he abandoned years earlier. If he can win Molly over, he might just fulfill the President's urgent request, find his daughter, and maybe even hasten the end of the War.

Some estimates by medical research groups state that up to 20 million Americans suffer from some form of peripheral neuropathy (PN) and this number is much higher when worldwide statistics are considered. A major reason for the rise in incidence for these conditions of damage to the nerves in the body that results in pain and dysfunction in them is the increase in cases of diabetes and pre-diabetic syndromes. There are many other causes of PN however, including old age, viral infections, nutritional deficiencies, various autoimmune diseases, dysfunction of the arterial system (blood circulation) and drug-use of both prescribed types and varieties of illegal drugs. Within the chapters of this audiobook, I address the types of symptoms involved in PN diseases, the types of nerves that can be affected and treatments that are administered to treat underlying causes of PN and to directly address its symptoms. This is not an extensive medical journal but rather contains aspects of information on the subject that most laypersons would be seeking.
